Hi Stuart,
Thanks a lot for this new release, very good job!
The interior is very nice.
Usually I use the Hughes500E v2.1 (download from FlightgearUK), an other good job.

I have try this new version on Linux Mint 20.1 + Flightgear 2020.3.8.
All features work fine but I have (maybe) find a litle problem.

With this Hughes MD500D, I have the impression that the feeling of speed is different in comparison of the Hughes 500E v2.1 (?)
I have test a flight with MD500E and MD500D (same scenery) with same speed (120kn) and I did not feel the same speed of flight (the MD500D has a lower speed).

Some propositions for next release:
> add "Voodoo" liverie (as MD500E),
> add option to hide pedal/cyclic/collectif/panel graphics... usefull if you have a realistic cockpit simulator (panel hardware).

Thanks again for your job.
/Ben

There is very little difference in the performance of them both and the same instruments are fitted to both. The sensation of speed can vary with the field of view settings, but both do fly at the same speed.
The Option to hide the entire model should be fairly easy to add to the menu. I will look into that.

Previously the MD500E was my favorite heli, but after some of hours in the MD500D this one it is now my new favorite. Good work, and really nice to fly. :D

The single only issue I have encountered so far are that I miss the belly view, and some issues with parts of the instrument panel while using the ALS night vision filter (in particular that the altimeter and variometer get really hard to read), but on the other hand that is something I very rarely will use. Daytime and below tree tops is my preference in a helicopter. ;)

Glad you all like it.

I cant test the ALS Night vision as those filters are no longer in the Nightly FG builds.

I think they were moved to View/ALS Filter Effects.

This is simply amazing work!!

I am sorry to ask, but I've landed on FGUK website, the number of aircrafts there is simply amazing. Why are they not available on the FG default hangar? Is there some copyright issues or something like that?

I am just saying because, even though I've been flygearing since a few years, my reflex to discover new planes was always to look on the default hangar. Any new comer will only do that, so there is really a point to put as many good planes as we can on the FG hangar, especially when they are as gorgeous as I can see there!!!

Cheers,
Chris.

i think i recall something about there being plans for a FGUK hanger link that can be put into the launcher... if/when that happens, one will be able to download them from there quite easily... there are a few other hanger links that one can also put in the launcher but i don't recall them ATM...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."
