I tried that version of the Citation when it was announced, and I couldn't get it to run more than 30 minutes or so without crashing FG back to the desktop. At the time I was still new to FG with the Ubuntu repository version, and I attributed that crash to my use of three displays. The B777-300 didn't like it either. I saw this post and thought I'd give it another try.

It was a nice aircraft when it worked, but it isn't working even minimally now, at least for me. I get the panel to kinda display, but it is really slow and "colorful" updating. I get about 25 fps where I get almost 60 fps in mine.

The aircraft is working fine for me, did you make sure to follow the steps needed to start it? Try using the autostart to make sure this isn't the problem.

Also, do you have any error messages in your log? (Best to post the whole log into e.g. pastebin.com, so we can have a look at it).

SurferTim, I'm sure you are trying to provide useful information but you're staying a bit too vague. Please try to explain your issues in more detail.

Was there any error message after crashing (in the log)?

This is the part that I have the hardest time understanding. What does "kinda display" mean? Also what is "colorful"? Could you provide a screenshot?

I didn't stay with that version of the aircraft long this attempt. When I discovered the panel was unusable on my system, I stopped.
Give me a few minutes to fire up my FG machine. I'll try to do a video of it. Would that help?

Optimally, a video of only
* Start FG with the Citation X
* Autostart via menu
as well as the corresponding fgfs.log file would help very much

I haven't checked the log yet, but it generated no errors on the terminal.
Here is the video of just the startup with the psychedelic panel.

Indeed, there is a known problem with multiple displays and Canvas.

Any crash dumps / backtraces would be appreciated.

Apparently not any more with the B777-300. It will fly now with my new video card and FG 2019.2.0. It used to freeze when the altimeter hit 200 feet.
I'm not saying the frame rate is as good as I'd like it tho.

It depends on your symptoms. Are yours the same as those in my video?
I use a GTX1050TI card with 4 monitors connected.

Turns out this was caused by some nasal code using
Code: Select all
getprop("/sim/fg-aircraft") ~ "CitationX/Nasal/...."
where this property doesn't exists in all cases (depends on how you launch flightgear it might be defined or not). I changed all instances of this property to
Code: Select all
getprop("/sim/aircraft-dir") ~ "Nasal/...."
as suggested by @legoboyvdlp in Discord and now it's working fine.

We'll keep trying to contact the original author so that it gets fixed upstream.

I tried your fix, and it did not solve my display problem in multiple display mode.
It looks ok on a single display.
