FlightGear 2.6 was released 8 years ago. See [wiki] FlightGear History#Release timeline. If you want to continue with ancient versions, but want recent aircraft, you are mainly on your own. You would probably need to fork the aircraft and maintain your own version 2.6 branch with modern features manually deleted.

Hi bioscz,
an important thing to realise is that the newer 777 you downloaded is (probably) not corrupted, it just uses features that have been added since then. Where did you have the older 777 from and where did you downloaded the new 777 (that doesn't work anmore)?

If you do not want to maintain your own backwards compatible forks of recent aircraft, you will have to use the aircraft that came with your orignal FlughtGear installation. If you do not have it, then you will have to extract it from the old gitorios archive.

It seems like the https://gitorious.org/fg/fgdata/ permanent archive is experiencing technical difficulties. So you cannot access the old FGData git repository from this ancient FlightGear version. I do have permanent local copy myself though. I have checked out the version/2.6.0-final tag, and the compressed 777-200.tar.bz2 file size is 9.4 Mb. If you PM me an email address, I could email it to you.

Ok, sent. Please remember not to mix versions. Newer aircraft will probably not work with older FlightGear versions.

and the same goes the other way around, too... older craft will probably not work with newer FG versions...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

No, then our fgdata would be filled with non-working aircraft but occasionally something like that does happen. On the other hand has any of my airships been tested recently? My computer is 12 years old so I haven't run FG since spring 2019.
