This one shows how little the pilot has to correct the Aileron when trimmed and the plane doesn't drift dramatically even though it's windy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bw6auJSG_9Q

It doesn't look like you read what I said so I'll try again.

You keep your foot on the pedal pushing a little right, its very light amount needed, and that's it (even less at lower rpms). Nothing to do with hands. Second, The aileron has no self centering spring. Aerodynamic forces may slightly move it but for the most part, if I have the ailerons slightly to the right and let go, they'll stay there. In the c182 video you sent, check out 16:38. Looks like its slightly right there, this could be that the linking is not perfectly straight for faired, or he has it very slightly to the right. I certainly remember not having to think about it. I kept my foot on the pedal, and kept the pitch trim in check, and I could write down whatever i needed to or check charts etc and the plane stayed where it is. And I simulated the same in FGFS version. If you want, I'll make a video demonstrating.

Again. I did this in the REAL PLANE! Not a simulation, not a Class D simulator, but the real actual plane. So when I say that only a very small rudder input is required, that's what I did in the real plane and I attempted to make my FGFS version match it. In fact, I complained about this in several GA planes that you can not keep the plane level with only the rudder (or if you did, it would no longer be in coordinated flight).

Kind Regards,
Josh

I read what you said, in the longer video the pilot makes no reference to using the rudder, don't you think as he was making a video about trimming for S&L he would have done. That said I am now using rudder trim. Thank you.

"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Yesterdays update. D- Echo did you alter anything to do with X55 Autopilot I only ask because yesterday when flying the plane instead of following the Phi map track and it has been doing perfectly with wind drift correction, it was flying a parallel route about 1/2nm north. No big deal but it's not done that since the wind drift update.

If you're using *trunk*, the latest update is the integration of a new version of the KAP140 autopilot. While this should not change the S-TEC 55's behaviour, it's possible I have done something wrong while implementing it that caused your issue.

If you're using the hangar that belongs to your release, i.e. *stable 2020.3*, the last update was a fix for the volume knob of the KX165, which should not affect the autopilot's performance at all.

Sorry don't fully understand are you saying the new KAP140 was part of the latest update. As for the volume knob it hasn't altered in the Debug/browser Com it still shows as 0.6. I am using V2020.3.6

You download the aircraft via the launcher, don't you?

In the launcher, go to the Add-Ons page, the upmost section should be "aircraft hangar". Copy the link that is mentioned there please :) (should be http://mirrors.ibiblio.org .... )

Okay, that's the stable hangar, so you're not using trunk. Thus the latest update you received was (supposed to be) fixing the KX165 volume.

Can you confirm that you mean the /instrumentation/comm[0]/volume (*not* volume-selected) does *not change* when you turn the *left* volume knob on the *upper* kx165?

That's really really strange and I currently don't have any reason how this would come. You don't by chance have two versions of the aircraft installed or something?

WoodSTokk discovered some parts that I missed while integrating it. Once there are no more issues left to fix and it's tested, I'll backport it to stable, so just a bit more waiting.
