The engine is pretty well forward to be fair, but unfortunately that's the best that can be done with current technology.

But it still looks very nice thanks to CaptB ;)

Hi guys,
I started repairing the FDM for the new coordinates of the 3D centered around where it should be (and not in a dumb place like the old 3D had!)

Also we added the FDM corrections to mass/balence and thus the plane now has a proper weight... was something I overlooked before... sorry..

Thus the aerodynamics needs to be fixed - but I've been planning and preparing for that for a bit now anyways.

So please be aware that 3D branch will not fly correctly yet. Have your patience, and it will be fixed!

Kind Regards,
Josh

And just to add to what Josh said. While the 3D model is basically frozen, the textures are not so expect things to break.

So at this point where does one download the real definite "latest version"? Which one is it?

And does it work in flightgear 2020?

Is the IAE engine version still the most developed one so far?

edit: A save function exactly like the cessna 172 has would make a world of difference.

I don't know who suggested that the IAE version is any better developed?

Yes, it will work on any version post 2019.2.0.

The latest version is available at https://github.com/legoboyvdlp/A320-family

There is also a recent (about two weeks old) version on fgaddon, available through the launcher.

The developers themselves said it, hinting that it was the version that had overall priority in development, months ago, last time I checked. I don't remember who exactly. Maybe it was even you, I don't know. Regardless, that was the fact a few months ago.

Aaah, the only thing that I recall is:

-- 3D model in the 3D branch only has CFM / IAE for now - no neo engines yet. But this is only in the 3D branch
-- there was a problem with the CFM aircraft where the APU wouldn't work -- but this has been fixed a long time?

Anyway, hope this helps...?

How about the flight computer? Are all major functions available? Or still under development? Used FLEX in the past in your a320, but if they are not so fully developed, let me know.

It is not a problem, there was a definite difference in the level of development on some level I don't recall completely, but the idea was that the IAE was more "realistic" at that point.

Will there be an improvement, in the future, to the air berlin livery?

Yes, indeed, it's all quite well implemented. There are several functions not available yet but these (from memory) are:

-- Entry of flightplan
-- procedures
-- transitions
-- approach vias coming shortly
-- Performance entry
-- Flex takeoff
-- Managed speed
-- Cost index
-- Fuel predictions
-- Radio controls

The functions missing would be:
-- Vertical flightplan
-- Holds
-- Airways
-- Progress page
-- Alternate flightplan

So yes still under development, but certainly a large majority of the basic functionality is there :)
Once I finish with the approach vias, I will continue with holds. I am in the middle of rewriting the departure and arrival pages in the MCDU.

I don't believe there ever was any functional difference between the variants - apart from different engines and so on, the systems are pretty much the same.
As for the livery, there is a new 3D model in the works, so all liveries will be remade again. We will have some quality guidelines for them to be added to the main repository.

Thats amazing, I am thinking of "flying" again with your a320 regularly over Europe, I really shouldn't need all those functions, but would be great if using FLEX would somehow have a noticeable effect on the consumption. Would be really great to have a save/resume function, and an HD livery for the air france or air berlin one.

Will there be a randomized system of failures?

edit: this probably has been reported before, but I have less overall computer energy consumption "flying" your a320 than the c172.

Flex reduces the N1% in the FADEC, so fuel consumption will be lower. However, over cruise there is no impact as you use CLB thrust limit in cruise, anyway.

Save and resume is complicated, but definitely will at some point :+1:

Save/resume would be a huge deal because it would allow realistic "flying" history, and not make the "pilot" feel he is "flying" a brand new aircraft every time.

@Cole the IAE has the most accurate simulation, since I found the most data on it.

Glad you enjoy!
