Westland Lynx AH7

Postby cobe571 » Fri May 31, 2019 7:41 am

I'm developing a Westland Lynx AH7 version for FG...

EDIT: The design of this Westland Lynx AH7 started when I team' up with the FGUK devs team, several months ago. Initially my contribution concerned only into the UVmapping of a 3D model, previously created by GRTux in collaboration with Emmanuel Baranger, if I remember correctly. StuartC has thus taken up the model and presented it into 'His' Forum, and asked who could deal with it. I volunteered. I then modeled Tow launchers and a MASS instrument. The original model of the helicopter, however, in my opinion shows several anomalies and imperfections; as in some cases a disproportionate asymmetry of the landing gear; the body/fuselage itself, and many other things that i dislike very much. So I decided to redo the 3D model from scratch, again, based on the principles and knowledge I work, with at my age and experience. The whole project is licensed as CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 *reverted in data 07/06/2019 to CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. The following photos are the screenshots of the sleepless nights I spent on this project. Although the collaboration with FGUK has ended, the project will be continued. The initial liveries paintwork was provided to me by Gary Brown whom I thank really much. The model code comes from different/many authors, many unknown to me, cause there's no tags. The FDM and the Nasal code from the old model that StuartC worked on, has been cleaned up and integrated into the project when I was there into the 'FGUK devs Team'. There are parts of code by: Melchior FRANZ (Nasal); G-EED (Nasal); Tomaskom (Nasal). From the very start I conceived the project in honor of the late GRTux who will then appear among the other authors. Thanks to their contribution it was possible to reach this point. The 3D model is almost done. I have to finish the FDM part. If you're interested into a collaboration, just let me know here, into this official FG Forum. If you want to see flying this 'chop' then I need your help to improve the FDM. So it will be great. This is essentially a military chop, with weapons and loads. I would like to find people that helps to code that useful buttons over the new Collective and the new Cyclic I modelled from scratch. Every part of this model is made from scratch. It deserve to fly. Just let me know...

For those interested into the project.

*Note:

Since I am a man of my word. And what I say, I do. This project still miss very good effects and finalized animations and so on. Said that: any further development is allowed to FGUK developers/contributors still interested.
(* I gave you months of my time that will never come back. StuartC has deleted everything with a click. You know, I'm not interested in creating models for FlightGear in which the pieces are cannibalized from other models. For me as a 3D modeler and maker, I find it, let me say 'difficult' to see that mismatched mix. and as a programmer it makes me even more d******** to see that mess). And above all, I'm not one of your employee.

Further develepment is also allowed to all kind of FlightGear Developers really interested into this project. But you've to let me know. A condition is that you've to work into that Folder Hierarchy. I learn'd that method from Emmanuel Baranger. Is always a very good methodology I think. Last but not least is my 3D model can be used in all those occasions when the Flight Gear project wanted to create a useful event for illustrative and educational purposes and for all those occasions in which it also creates a minimum profit exclusively for the benefit of Charities, Red Cross, Orphanages with verifiable documentation and No profit Military Veterans Associations .

I created a folder inside my Google Drive where data/files are being stored. Access will be granted for those intersted into further development
