737 Next Generation

This is a crazy experiment that I'm not entirely sure of what I am doing so if anyone knows how to fix any issues there might be, please do. I would greatly appreciate it.

Anyways, what lead to this project was that I noticed that at least three of Air India Express' and one of SAS' 737-800s don't have any winglets. I decided to try see if I can modify GabrielYV's 737-800 to have optional winglets. Then I thought why don't I take it further and expand it to include the other members of the 737 Next Generation family since I see 737-700s and 737-900s that fly by my house that I wish I could do liveries for but can't because the only 737 Next Generation add-on I know of for FlightGear has models that have issues (engines to shiny, liveries won't show up on the winglets...). Anyways, long story short, I more-or less combined GabrielYV's 737-800 and said 737 Next Generation add-on to make this. Like I said earlier, if anyone knows how to fix any issues there might be, please do.

I noticed something last night when I was going to take screenshots of some liveries I made for the 737-700. The 737-600, the 737-700, and the 737-900 all 'hover' above the runway. I'm working on correcting that...

I got the views for the 737-600 as close as I can get them to what they are supposed to be while keeping what little sanity I have left. I could use some help. Especially when it comes to fine tuning the views.

A little update:

I've got the views for 737-700 as close as I can get them to what they are supposed to be while keeping what little sanity I have left.

I've also renamed the engine files to match the type of engine. There was an extra -7 in the names that got in there because of copying and pasting from one of my sources.

Lastly, I'm adjust the maximum number of passengers you could have for each plane to match what according to my sources is the typical 2 class seating arrangement.

I've got the views for the 737-900 adjust properly. I've also noticed a strange bug that causes the contents of the livery image file to be displayed on the fan blades for the engines of the 737-600, the 737-700, and the 737-900. I think I've fixed it but let know if I haven't. I'm also thinking about adding the different types of engines available for each member of the 737 Next Generation family. This means there would be three types of 737-600s, five types of 737-700s, three types of 737-800s, and three types of 737-900s. Thoughts?

If I find the time I might try to do a few liveries for this beauty, and update the paintkit to include dirt and other effects.
No promises however, it has been quite some time since I have last done that :)

Dirt? That would be neat. I might use it to make a more realistic Sun Country livery because I haven't seen one of their planes that doesn't have some dirt on the bottom.

unless i'm mistaken, there is a routine or something that can be added to progressively add dirt to a craft over time... then there can be an option to clean the craft which will reset the dirt layer so it can start getting dirty again... i think the c172p has this now but am not absolutely sure about that...

"Why not?" said Gurder.

I would like to know what that routine is so I can add it.

apparently it is the ALS Dirt Effect or Grain Effect... the effect is one part and then some nasal logic is used to manipulate it... the c172p team started discussion and work on it back in March 2016... it looks like the work was finally done in Feb 2018... not that it took two years to do it but the talk was started back then and the work only done now... wlbragg has the details and i'm sure there's something on the wiki as i keep seeing wiki urls in the emails i get from the c172p's development repository when i searched my email history for "dirt"... i just don't know what urls are relevant...

issue #737 was the discussion... #973 fixed it but there was a lot done... looks like #1003 is also something to do with it... i'd touch base with wlbragg as he's done this to the c172p as well as the j3cub and possibly also the c182...

EDIT: i've PM'd wlbragg this post...

We haven't actually written any nasal control logic for this yet for any aircraft. In the J3Cub I have a slider in the GUI that you can use to apply the dirt effect. Basically all you would have to do is script some nasal control logic that would adjust the same property the slider is controlling to make an automated dirt effect over time. It's something we are planning to do for the c172p. I am pretty sure the c172p has the effect included and a property already accessible in the property tree.

Is it just me or what? After I upgraded FlightGear to the latest version (2018.2.2), the bottom half of the 737-900 is invisible. I have made no changes to the model since I fixed that 'hovering' problem.

Edit: Never mind. I fixed it. Just there's now a new problem. I have to redo the views... *grumbles*

Hello @omega13a I have a similar problem, the panel of the all cockpit is very dark, I have not touched any texture or something that affects it, I check the whole 3d cockpit and xml model and everything seems to be fine, I asked this question to some friends who also used my 737 800YV and they tell me, that they have the same problem but that the texture is dark where the whole pedestal is located, this happens to me in version 2018.1, also happens in your 737 family.
