777 slide slowly at gate

Postby biloute974 » Fri Jan 05, 2018 2:23 pm

Hello,
I would like to know if other users of the 777 have the same problem as me. When I leave the plane parked on a location for several minutes or hours, I end up finding several centimeters or even meters next to its initial location ... the plane slides slowly to the left most of the time. Looking at the property tree, I realize that its position is not fixed and the longitude and latitude coordinates vary all the time.

Is there a solution to stop this? I specify that the plane is off when that happens.

Didn't experience this yet. Could it have something to do with wind blowing on the tailplane?

Good evening. With or without wind is the same, the plane does not hold up, it's quite strange. It's the same at any airport.

"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

HI,

it's the 777-200 (ER) from gitlab, it's the same on FGAddon.

Never assume things like this unless you've actually ran a diff and it came out clean. I've had more than one report already where someone assured me it's the same plane from a different repo and in the end it turned out not to be.

I've had this issue with many aircraft, seems specific to YAsim.

the only possible solution is to fix the numbers used for the input to the calculations that are causing the FDM to generate results that indicate the craft has moved since the last calculation...

eg:
is there not enough weight on the wheels?
does the breeze/wind have too much influence?

If it's bothersome - use a good JSBSim aircraft.

Seems most YAsim planes have "slippery" gears, and there is no way to correct it as far as I know. Just try steering a YAsim airliner above 15kts and you'll see what I mean.

There was JSB try at the 777, but it doesn't work very well.

I seem to recall that YAsim helicopters are very apt to slide sideways and there was a patch to fix this. :?:
