IDG A33X Development

Postby it0uchpods » Sun Oct 01, 2017 6:10 pm

Hello all,

It is time that we share with you a secret. For the last 6 months or so, the IDG-A32X has had a secret double life, as an A33X!

As you may have seen on the MPmap, sometimes an aircraft called the Article was flying around. Now no, this is not a U-2 spy plane, in fact, this was the codename for the IDG-A33X project, which we would now like to announce, and make available to the public. In the past few days you may already have seen the correct name flying around on the map (ie: A330-300-PW).

So, not to say much further,

IDG presents the IDG-A33X as a new member of the it0uchpods Hangar!

The IDG-A33X systems are based on the ones used in the IDG-A32X, as they share a similar flightdeck. Of course, changes were made, to ensure that it is in fact an A330 flightdeck, with A330 systems. Therefore, most updates on the IDG-A32X are directly ported over to the IDG-A33X, with the necessary changes made, for realism.

Image
The A330-200-PW

Cockpit pictures removed since they are out of date

Features:
* Fully custom accurate JSBsim Flight Dynamics
* Custom Advanced systems likes Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Electrics, Fuel
* Advanced Autopilot and A/THR just like A32X
* Advanced FlyByWire simulation with envelope protection (like A32X)
* Commercial versions, with full failure modelling
* MRTT versions with full OPRF damage code, with custom failure modelling connected to the damage, and refueling capability
* Authentic sounds
* Accurate landing gear tilt
* And much, much, more...

The IDG-A33X contains all the current A330 models (this doesn’t include the A330-800neo and A330-900neo), including the KC-30A and Voyager-KC (two military versions, which both support in-air refueling).

A Small Development Update:
Now you probably also know the reason why not so many updates happened in the past few weeks. Now that this project is public, we continue work on a major update for both aircraft, which will introduce things like the autobrake, F-PLN page (and others) in the MCDU, predictive turning, updates to the ND, and many other things.
The IDG-MD-11X and IDG-MD-10X projects are still in development, but these will go public at a later date that is yet to be determined, as some work still has to be done on those.
To summarize, the planes we are developing at the moment: IDG-A32X, IDG-A33X, IDG-MD-11X, IDG-MD-10X. All these planes will be study level aircraft, and as realistic as possible.

Also, we are starting to make plans for a big event in November, celebrating the 1-year anniversary of IDG-A32X development. More details to follow on that at a later date.

We hope you enjoy this latest addition to the IDG aircraft family,
Josh (it0uchpods), Jonathan (legoboyvdlp), Charlie (Wecsje)
it0uchpods Design Group

Hello,
I have found a mistake in the Qantas A330-303 livery (NEW)
The winglet kangaroos should not be on both sides of the winglets, and should only be on the inside!
I have edited it!

Also, I cant add thrust by adding the key "9"
Why is that?
Do I have to drag the throttles?

No. Use PgUP or PgDN
Or else turn on the keyboard mode in aircraft config.

To Development team.

I'm really appreciate your work in Airbus developments.

to Josh

there is a problem in lighting. Nav and strobe lights are shifting up and down when the wings flexing.

Thank you.

@uvindu330

Could you elaborate more, ie: screenshots etc...

The lights will move with the wing when they flex.

@RenanMsV: Thanks but actually I've ported some from those you named and adapted to our A330. Currently we are fine with those (3x Azul is already enough), as it requires a long process for liveries to be adapted, approved and included into the project.
@japanair772: Will look into it and fix, thanks for reporting.
Speaking of liveries, there are still some I need to add/edit, so stay tuned ;) .

It's been months of hard work, I hope you guys appreciate it as I do, been a very big project to keep to carry on, especially in the darkness hehe.

(If you're still reading, better you stop here and go flyin' it now!)

@uvindu330

I have checked the problem out, and seems like the non-ALS lights are incorrectly positioned/don't move with wing flex. We are working on a fix for that, so stay tuned. The ALS lights are however correct, so expect them to work. If your PC can handle it, turn ALS on in either the launcher, or go view -> rendering settings and mark the box on the right hand side.

Let me know if you have any other questions,
