This weeks changes:
- New battery charge/discharge logic with proper voltages
- Improved electrical system
- Various fixes to FCS, and other system componets
- Added autobrake

it0uchpods is hoping to start on the engine system and finishing pneumatics soon.

I know it's been absolutely ages, but:
- Ignition system, and logic
- Packs turn off, and continuous ignition when taking off
- FADEC ALTN switches and mode
- You can now start the plane manually!
- Implement proper panel state loading
- Many bugfixes to displays, FADECs, and more
- Improve the packs and ignition logic

Kind Regards,
Josh

ATTENTION!!!!!
This IDG Airplane now requires FlightGear 2018.1.0 or later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This version adds the JSBsim engine spool up/down configuration I requested, so now the engines have much more realistic spooling. It still needs more tweaking, but is already much better.

Hello guys,

I have been following the MD-11X development for quite sometime now and was thinking of ways to contribute to this amazing aircraft. So I found sometime to do some model improvements. More specifically, the engine pylons and the MD-11 Pratt & Whitney engine nacelles. As a lover of McDonnell Douglas Trijets, improving the already amazing FG model was a step forward in making this aircraft more realistic. Some screenshots of the improved pylons and PW engine nacelles:

Additional notes: These engine models are so far only for the MD-11F and have not been ported over to the Pax MD-11. Also, I have improved on the pylon model on the MD-11F GE version and still pending to port over to the pax MD-11 GE model. I hope to see this model improvement pushed into the FGMEMBERS Git repo so if possible I can email the .ac file once all 4 models have been updated to it0uchpods.

Thanks
Zack

Hello legoboyvdlp,

Glad to hear from you so soon.
I've managed to port the modified engine and pylon models across all versions of the MD-11 files. Since I am unable to find the email addresses of either you or it0uchpods, I've decided to upload it to dropbox for all to download. Please feel free to test out the models and provide any feedback if any.
Instructions for installation:
1. Unzip the folder
2. Copy and paste all the 4 .ac files and the texture file to "Aircraft\IDG-MD-11X\Models"
3. Replace all files (You may want to back up the original .ac files if you decide to revert back)

Download link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpgrfylmfudh3ax/MD-11%20Models.zip?dl=0

Click on the 3 dots on the top right hand corner and click on "Download"

Best regards,
Zack

Good morning Zack,
Fantastic work!!!!!!!!! I am very happy for your help with this project. The email button is on under the user on the right, but don't worry. I've sent you an email.

I will definitely check, and merge your changes, and I will add you to the authors list.

BTW: FGMEMBERS is a third party repo, where anyone can make changes. We are going to make the changes in the official IDG repository. (link my signature)

Best Regards,
Josh

Hello there,

Thanks alot and great to hear from you all. After some testing I realised that the inward slats (the leading edge at touches the wings) of the MD-11F versions are missing due to accidental errors when editing, apologies on my part. However, I am also working on it to make it look more realistic so please wait for that and more testing before releasing it. I will work more on it tomorrow and port the updates to all 4 model files.
On a side note, the MD-11 PW pax variant liveries seems rather odd in my FG 2017.3.1, with strange transparent lines. This issue seems to only plague the PW pax version and none of the others, which is rather strange.
