DetailedSystems in MD-11:
Electrical:

AC System is done according to schematics, manuals, and documentation about operation from pilots.
1500 lines of JSBsim code. 32 Relays, 29 Buses. All transfer, No-Interrupt-Power-Transfer, bus priority, EPCU (Electrical Power Control Unit) automatic switches, Relay Arm Logic, Detailed simulation of IDG (Constant Speed Drive + Generator), APU Generator, Aux Drive Generator (MD-11s version of the Ram Air Turbine, called ADG), Static Inverter, Emergency Power Arming/Active, etc.

Now I need to do the DC System :)

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi Josh, Question abt. IDG MD-10x:
(didn't see thread abt md-10x here so posting here where I think you'll see it)

Can't get the latest version of your IDG Md-10x to run. It starts & then quickly crashes? Never completely starts. I have latest ver. of your IDG MD-11x installed, so that's not the prob. Also FYI am running latest MacBook system. Curious if this may be a prob. and if you know.

Also just FYI. Finally learned how 2 fly your IDG MD-11x. It's beautiful! Have always loved that plane & actually flew in it many times, back in the day. ( i.e. the DC-10 back then)

Best & Thanks for your time.

Hi naplesAPF:
The MD-10X addon is discontinued. Thanks for the interest. It will be replaced with a DC-10 later on. Hence I cannot provide support for it.

I am glad that you enjoy the MD-11! Sadly there is not tons of interest in it (yet, maybe oneday)

Also,
Electrical DC System is now done.
We are up to 1900 lines of JSBsim code
I've added the 6 remote controlled circuit breakers, accurate power distrubution for AC and DC through 4 transformer rectifiers, and static inverter, plus battery charging/discharging, and the battery voltage regulator
Should be up in git shortly.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi Josh,

thanks for the awesome aircraft models you're providing for the community!

In your last MD-11 update, the autopilot panel is completely switched off (dark) when I initialize the aircraft "ready for takeoff" via the aircraft config panel. What do I have to do to make it useable?

Thanks!
Bernhard

Hi guys,
My apologies, I left out the component which powers the panel and the generics. That is needed until I can find which eveything gets powered by which bus. I will fix that shortly. Sorry!

Glad you enjoy
Josh

Just pushed the fix, thank you for reporting!
I also fixed the FD buttons broken, and not toggling Flight Directors.

I also forgot to mention, the display units are now powered by the correct AC buses, so they will be like real!

Kind Regards,
Josh

MD-11 performance improvement package (PIP) simulated, now deflected ailerons are optional: if equipped, outer ailerons are always down 4 degrees at rest, except when drooping to 15 degrees when flaps out for takeoff. adds lift  inner ailerons stay at neutral, and droop 11.5 degrees for takeoff

New DetailedSystems merge into master:

Brand new DETAILED Hydraulic System:
3 systems, 2 RMPs, 2 NRMPs, Fluid Leak, Pump Failure, and auxiliary hydraulic pumps + adg feeding aux pump 1, system 3 isolation valve ("Souix City Valve")
Leaks will cause pressure drop once quantity is below critical level

Hydraulic System Controller:
New automatic logic, now behaves like real one, and controls all pumps, RMPs, and NRMPs properly. Most of the failure HSC logic is simulated, the rest will be added once those failures can be triggered

Electrical System:
Fixed a few issues with ADG operation, and a relay in the wrong place

Sim:
Failures now managed by respective system (ELEC and HYD only for now)
Prepare for master calls between systems

Still TODO:
FCTL system needs fixes to tie LSAS, YD, and RCWS into hyd properly
Hydraulic Leak Failures don't decrease reservoir quantity yet
Connect Pratt & Whitney reversers to hydraulics (GE uses pneumatic for reversers)
Bugfixes?

Kind Regards,
Josh

Isaak,
Thank you! I have 4+ years of study of real MD-11 FCOMs (KLM + FedEx), and have been flying the PMDG MD-11 for almost 3 years, so I know this aircraft extremely well, which helps my work rate :)

Also have to redeem this aircraft, before the 777 killed my baby :(

Kind Regards,
Josh

Flight Control system moved to JSB now. The main controls were there before, but the logic was in nasal. It was mostly all correct, so was mostly unchanged, but I did make some fixes and corrections to the logic, and overhead controls.

I removed the optional RCWS system because I can't find enough information to simulate it properly.

I also made a few changes to the structure of integrated systems. Not going into master yet, as I need to complete more testing and possibly some changes before I am happy with it going upstream.

Kind Regards,
Josh

OK, I'm happy with the behavior now.
I fixed a hydraulic bug where SYS 1 was powered by Eng 3, that was due to a mistake I made -- sorry!

I also made a few improvements to the logic of the AFS AUTOFLIGHT button, and fixed that external power stays on if disconnected.

Next DetailedSystems merge should come soon.

Kind Regards,
Josh

OK guys
Made the merge now.
These changes are very important, please some people, if you fly the MD-11, please tell me if your flights went good or bad! Thanks!

Fixed:
* Hydraulic bug with SYS 1 powered by Eng 3
* Electrical bug where Ext Power might be stuck on
* Severe AFS bug preventing proper switching between FMS/AFS1 and FMS/AFS2
* Other mistakes with things

New:
* FCC and FCS separated, cleaned up, and some logic corrected
* Integrated Systems Property Tree Definitions
* Removed more getprop/setprop in favor of props.nas

Bugs:
* You tell me! :mrgreen:

Kind Regards,
Josh
