Added Oil Temperature simulation, the simulation isn't perfect but it's fairly close.

Reversers got an overhaul.

Since my new JSBsim System based FADEC (that have been in the plane for a while now), the throttle computations are FINALLY separated from the FADEC's behavior and thus the input can be controlled in a much more modular way.

This means, we can finally allow use of the throttle to control the reverse thrust power. DEL toggles in and out of reverse like always. I have kept the F1/F2 bindings as they may be useful for keyboard users. This plane's reversers will now work more similar to the "standard way" that FG planes typically do it.

Kind Regards,
Josh

The MD-11's cockpit animations got an overhaul with the knob animation.

Multi-function buttons were not updated because knob does not support it.

You'll also notice more details like the sunshades, and the flap lever, etc have more realistic animations.

Josh

How do you mean ? You can bind 5 different actions to 5 different events with knob / slider animations !

Example, the heading knob.

Right now, left click pushes the knob. Middle click or shift+left click pulls the knob. Scrolling turns the knob. Shift + scrolling turns the knob at a higher rate.

If it was only turnable, or only push/pullable, then no problem. But with both functions, there is no way to do this without adding more modifier keys in the current implantation.

Josh

Well, you'd have to drop being able to turn the knob at a higher rate - but I see what you're getting at. I guess we need an <ctrl-action> ?

See that's what I mean. More modifier keys. Yuck from a user experience perspective.

Shift to accelerate or invert is simple, adding more confuses it for end users.

Personally I find it much more confusing to have a knob that behaves different from others when clicked or scrolled - but it's your aircraft, I won't get into your way ! ;)

But it has to behave differently anyways if you add modifier keys.

I use this same scheme for EVERY multifunction button. None of it is specific to one control only.

So really there are 2 types of controls in my planes, single function controls and multi function controls. So every switch that can be manipulated in more than one way (such as push/pull and turning, that's 2 ways), uses the scheme I described above. Single function controls scrolling and clicking both work.

Isn't that more simple than learning a bunch of control specific modifier keys that you have to reach over your joystick/yoke to grab?

Kind Regards,
Josh

It's different to other aircraft - that's it. But I still love your aircraft ! :)

True, but I don't know of any planes who use CTRL either :D
Thx!

Hi,
I've added a second applet to view V Speeds, until the FMS is developed sufficiently for this functionality to be used in the FMS, since the calculations already exist in the FMS's backend.
Image

You may notice that the V2 speed is what AFS targets in T/O CLAMP/THRUST mode and once airborne it targets V2+10

In the future, you will enter the flap setting you want and the weights into the FMS, and it will give you the v-speeds, and this will go away.

Kind Regards,
Josh

New:
I corrected a few things with the transponder, improved pedestal geometry, and made the Comm radios functional.

The radios will be up in Git shortly, have a few things to finish up before I commit.

Sorry about the background noise.

I also fixed an issue that could cause the control surface to appear to "vibrate" under turbulent weather conditions.

Kind Regards,
Josh
