So you can lock on to the localiser but have to descend manually all the way.

Waterford (EIWF) definitely shows ILS but this time GS activated plane didn't descend as it should. Nav APR & GS showing. This time at 2100 which as stated on Route Manager.

Worked fine on EGGP (Liverpool)
EGPK (Prestwick) Locked on GS activated but didn't descend.
EGPE (Inverness) same as EGPK

What I am finding is 3 different runway headings, with no idea which is right. 1 is in SkyVector, 1 in the tracking MAP in FG and another in a site called APXP. They are within 3 or 4 degrees of each other. Why is this. Surely the right heading is the right heading. This is very frustrating. I am following Josh's video instructions., and yesterday it worked fine for the most part.

One is out of date properly.
Anyways it works at EGPK on 12 and 30 fine for me.

Sorry I don't understand how the heading can change. The runway can't move?? Where did 12 & 30 come from. The runways are 13 & 31 with runway heading 125 & 305 on Skyvector which is updated regularly. On runway 31 I did in fact use 304 which is the from the data on the chevron in tracking map as per your video.

But the magnetic poles can (and do).

The runways are 13 & 31 with runway heading 125 & 305 on Skyvector which is updated regularly.

And FG nav definitions and terrain are not updated regularly, so they can be out of date.

So are you saying we can only use the headings in the FG tracker map & the frequencies in FG Airport map.

if you want to be sure to use the same values as used in FG, yes.

No problem it's normally me making mistakes. For the record using the headings as per the Chevron data seems to be working. I still can't however get the 'short cut' to work. Can you only use this when you are actually in range. I regularly get the Nav1 recognition about 28/30NM. When Nav/APR does start flashing the plane changes course.

when NAV APR flash - it means the mode is not engaged. You shouldn't go into ILS LOC at 30 nm out btw.

I don't know what you mean shortcut.

You show in the video pressing & holding HDG and then pressing NAV, it and APR will flash and then automatically capture the localiser/GS. All that happens when I try is it either they don't flash or if the do plane changes direction. What I was asking is how far from the GS will this actually work. In the video you were quite close.
