Certainly we can do that, we just need lots of interest and patience :) I sure want to do as much work as I can on it. Texture is my speciality, Once the exterior is done, and the FDM and animations perfected just right, then we can model the interior and all the textures can be put in as high quality as we can possibly make them, and tweaked etc and we will have something that replicates just that. I am currently working on an Icelandair paint for it, I want to do it in great detail so that the plane looks good from the outside. I have done alot of door detail so far and made it look good, but its still incomplete. This plane has very good mapping so the texture possibilities are endless.

OK then,
seems like the project that I'm doing -IF I can do it- I'll need to get alot of help from you guys,,,
Look for "B-BIRD" "N127KY" or "AVA0004" -that's me.

Despite having over 1700 posts here, I am not even close to being the most skilled guy here... I'm just words and bad drawing, not experience. :P

I'm looking into redoing the FDM using YASIM. I really like JSBSim cause I think it can be the most realistic, but it depends on the data you feed it. Garbage in, Garbage out right. I don't have enough data (or knowledge) to use DATCOM which is too bad cause from what I can tell planes that have used DATCOM fly the most realistically.

On the other hand, I think YASIM is quite a nice solution for a flight sim as you give it some data and it does all the work for you and still gives nice results. I haven't done a YASIM FDM yet, but i'm working on it. Right now I'm working on the ATR42.

I think there is also a coefficient in JSBSim that will cause you to have too much lift, but I cant remember what it is.

Cool.
But some features that work to make planes realistic, such as pushback and wingflex are JSB-only...

http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Ho ... t_pushback
"Currently, pushback can be used on JSBSim planes and YASim aswell, but the method differs a bit depending of type of fdm."

http://wiki.flightgear.org/index.php/Ho ... _wing_flex
"YASim does not calculate wingflex as nice as JSBSim, but a pretty realistic effect can be reached by using the accelerations/pilot-g[0] property instead. "

Wow. I had no idea someone had modeled wing flex. I would love to see a movie that showed the wings flexing!
