Thanks everyone for the support.

As some of you would know, Take Two just took down OpenIV mod, which is an important tool for GTA V mod development. Previously Rockstar (GTA V publisher) had no problem with users using their game models to be ported to other games. But given the recent move from Take Two, I have decided to remove my projects off Github. I will keep this thread and my site alive as I would continue porting and editing GTA vehicles on Flightgear.

This might be a great opportunity for you to try modelling a Car on your own... :)

We will use GTA vehicles as a template, but we make heavy modifications on them (a bit like coachbuilders) so they are our vehicles. Rockstar does the same thing too (they make a few changes so they don’t need to pay license fee to actual manufacturers).

I think that would mean you can't release them as GNU GPL compatible. It is certainly not in the spirit of Open Source in my opinion.

That's what they are doing. I am doing something entirely different. Once I am done with this project, I will show it here. Definitely GPL compatible :)

Decided to give up on that idea. Time to introduce real life vehicles to FG

Hi,

I really respects your work, cars are look like amazing. But maybe it is a good idea to create a separate "folder" on the forum then Aircraft? Dedicated to the cars. Cars are not an aircraft :) Admins / moderators?

Best regards,
Lukasz

Well, why can't you use OpenIV anyways? I still use it when I mod GTA. Just click the Uninstall Later option.

I'd say the volume of traffic concerning cars, ships, boats, submarines etc. are not large enough for that - and to the program FlightGear (or its physics engines) they are all the same as "aircraft" anyway.
