You probably had a problem with the weather causing an overspeed and autopilot disconnect. Do you use advanced weather?

Can you show a screenshot of the oval flight path? Thanks.

It is possible with basic weather too. And sometime with special bonus - You fly in reasonable good visibility in Alp valley, after METAR change You are suddenly in the fog and can't see nose of Your aircraft...
There is possible solution - do not fly on the edge of the flight envelope, leave some reserve in speed and altitude for that weather jump changes. Or change the sim

i guess I can put a lag filter or something on the airspeed before the FBW sees it, maybe that will reduce it. I'll do some testing.

Filter is usable only for spikes, not steep changes like this :

Image

Static (red) and total pressures (yellow) are on left Y axis, sea level pressure (blue) on right Y axis. After largest sea level pressure change indicated altitude jumped more than 1000 feets. IMHO, only live wind and pressure data will solve this problem.

Not altitude, indicated airspeed.

IAS is the same problem. Model situation :
You are flying 5 kts under speed limit with 40 kts wind from side;
Sudden 90 degs wind direction change occurs and now You have 40 kts head wind
Result - 35 kts overspeed for more than few seconds
Solution - do not use Waypoint Wind Aloft wind model in Advanced weather settings or disable AP off in case overspeed till someone fix AW interpolation loop

EDIT :
Here is example, when jump change of the sea level pressure can affect IAS :

Image

Check steep 20 kts IAS change around 7000th second

Oh, I thought it was a spike. Honestly I haven't experienced this. I only get altitude jumps of a few hundred feet, ias stays about the same. So I'm not sure I can test any fixes then.

Test is very simply - set Environment->Weather->Advanced Settings, wind aloft model to Aloft Waypoint and perform 500-700 nm flight across Europe. Altitude is not problem, problem is wind direction or speed change.

OK. It is not IDG's problem, but FG AW developers problem.
Nice windowed MCDU. Like PMDG. Good job.

That's been there for a while lol... I was showing off how the new F-PLN framework now exists, in this case, showing the default setup with no f-pln programmed yet.

I didn't used it. I entered all values direct on 3D MCDU model. Like in the reality. But for PMDG I bought Android CDU software, initial programing is much faster this way than clicking on the 3D model. If You want, check https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... udevicepro

Hey @V12,
Yes, I also use this in my PMDG MD-11. I think a Android CDU program for the IDG planes would be cool. I'd have to learn more about connecting devices to FG over lan, then I think it'd be quite cool to send the Canvas MCDU display to an Android tablet, and then sending buttonklicks back to the PC. The IDG MCDU software supports this stuff fully, so it will be possible.

Josh

Check this thing https://sites.google.com/site/flightgea ... htgear-mfd and viewtopic.php?f=6&t=24490

Both apps using UDP for reading data from FG. I modified protocol and used it with Concorde. Some circling approaches of WCA tour was unflyable without this thing. After some Nasal study I added simply tablet as NAV display to that plane.

Looks cool, but the graphics leave alot to be desired. This is probably due to the planes it's being not using Canvas, hence it can't take FGs graphics. Our approach would be to grab the displayed image from FG, and send it to the tablet.
