Rework 767-300 model?

Postby flycanarias » Fri Oct 14, 2016 9:19 am

Hello,

I want to request if anyone is willing and capable of reworking the 767s model, basically fuselage.
The airliner is in fact great, but the exterior model is somehow not that good. If anyone would take care of this, I'd thank you a lot. It doesn't take much to make this good airliner a fantastic one.

Happy flying to all of you,

Are u willing to remake a lot of liveries that are made for that plane?

I don't think so.

This is already under way, the B763 is built from scratch with technical documentation, however don't expect it anytime soon as I'm pretty busy with other things in life as well.

You can check the progress here: https://fg767.wordpress.com/

@berkut
I was just talking about the planes skin, NOT the shape of the fuselage. Just "retexturing" the basis, with a "cleaner" skin, as well as maybe some structures.
@CaptB
Looks awesome, looking forward for the first version!

Waste of time. Goodbye forever.

@ flycanarias

It will be released when it's ready, which means when the external model and VC are completely done, this includes texturing. All planned core aircraft systems must function sufficiently to allow a full normal procedures flight with at least VOR to VOR navigation ( no abnormal checklists etc. )

The external 3D model is mostly complete. The wing is in progress at the moment and is the most problematic part which was remodeled at least two times to get the shape just right. Once this is finished things will speed up.

Progress at times is slow as I try to be very accurate and also have other real life responsiblities.

Thanks for you reply,

please take all the time you need... There is no urge to publish this model too early as we in fact have a working 767. It's not that good, but at least stable.
I saw that you have worked on the overhead mesh some time ago... Does that mean that you won't use the cockpit provided by tikibar?
I personally would appreciate that you use it, just because it's of good quality, and there is no need to duplicate work...
Noticing that you cut out windows, I wonder if you will make a cabin... Please concern the frames impact coming with it. If you notice, its too heavy, would you concern to do 2d windows, which maybe use different shading than the fuselage instead of having an entire cabin.
Good luck with the project anyway,

@flycanarias

Tikibar's cockpit will not be used. There will be no 3D mesh or texture reuse from other projects. Cabin is planned to be very, very low poly, with only some critical parts with higher complexity.

I am considering some optional performance friendly solutions for those with lower end machines, too early to speak of it at this stage.

Good news...
Really looking forward to the release...
I think implementing some systems to avoid performance troubles are a nice way!
Will you do some extras, like openable doors, ground service and an announcement system?
Would be great, because the old 767 has it...

@flycanarias

Doors are already cut and will be animation ready. Announcements are planned and will most likely be quite more complex than those available in the present B763 package.

Ground services would be nice to have but it is premature to think of anything more complex than the toggle on/off system at this stage. I still need to look into what is possible.

Note that core/critical aircraft systems that affect flight and usage need to be implemented and functional first, before any of those non critical and "cool" features can be implemented. In other words, those non critical features are not a priority and it is unlikely they wil make it into the first release.

That sounds good, really...
I'm reeeally looking forward to the first release. Take your time with the general things you need to do... there is more time for that nice-to-have stuff later...
