Thanks for your help , I downloaded the tool, I try to adjust it to my FDM config

Tridson wrote in Sun Nov 18, 2018 11:13 am:How do you turn on master arm in the plane?
How do you lock on a target?
How do you change weapons?
How does the radar actually work?

I'm really sorry to tell you that this aircraft is still a work in progress , the weapons control system is not just complete ,
For now the Radar can be activated via Shift-R ,it will show all targets in its detection range you can see them in the HUD and the mfd by switching the lever up the screen,
When aquiring targets , the first one will be automatically locked on ,
the '+'key will launch automatically the missiles at the selected pylon ,only R-27R and R-73 missiles are selectable and can be launched for now ,
Sorry , this will be done when I have time .

Hi.
Great plane, reminding me times of good old Flanker series flight sims! But I have one question, on my computer (iMac with Mac
Os 10.14 and actual version of FlightGear) there is no engine sound on external view (in cockpit sound plays correct). Is that a bug or sound was not implemented yet intentionally?
Thanks you in advance for replay.

Thank for your feedback ,
The sound issues are actually known not bugs but as a work in progress,
As I don't have enough time lately to add or fix any thing, I will try to get sounds fixed soon
.

Hi, FG forum members ,
I really hope every body's fine .

Image

*- HUD brightness knob is now working with <Knob> animation (means its controllable through the mouse wheel) .
*- The armament management got lately a lot of improvement and fixes , but it's still a work in progress,
*- The upper armament indicator panel (in the yellow circle ) is working and indicates which pylons are ready (with yellow lights) and which ones contains the selected weapon (the green lights).
*- You can now cycle between weapons using the "-" (minus) key , to change selected weapon to launch .
*- Weapons management system algorithms improved .
*- Docs included whithin the aircraft package improved a little bit

Hope you enjoy flying the aircraft ,
please tell me about which thing you want to see soon so it can be prioritized .

Regards ,
Yanes Bechir .

Hi yanes,

I really appreciate and enjoy your work! Also, I'm doing the Shenyang J-11A variant of this aircraft, which has a Chinese labeled cockpit. Actually, there is more difference between the two planes especially that J-11A is available to fire R-77 missile, but as the WCS and radar system of this plane are still in development I'm going to do that in the future.

I've created a pull request in your repo that contains the work I've done so far. There are still many parts of the cockpit haven't been translated, they will be done as soon as I got more free time to do it. Please check if there's any problem.

Merged ! And sorry for being late ,
Just keep you projects files ;), since some models you textured may be subject to improvement
Very good job,by the way ,
The SKM variant is in fact the exact match of the J-11 , and is able to carry and deliver the Vympel (R-77) A2A and it's just a matter of time before it gets implemented, I already made a basic model of it , it now fires the R27R and the R-73 (even with the R-27ER, R-27T,R-27ET implemented in models and gui dialogs )
Good Regards
Yanes.

hi guys , hope you are all doing well ,
in the last few days I was modelling a panel of instruments in Blender ,
I thought how it looks if rendered as detailed mesh and rendered in cycles and the result was impressive !
since i tried it already in some parts in the cockpit , I modeled them very detailed and rendered to get nice textures ,
So I just wanted to share the results with you  :
Image Image

I'm now confused , to keep modelling the missing parts in the cockpit or Re-model and retexture the old ones   ,
Still to decide to commit these to the repo or they will just look somehow weird until I update the others.

Best rgards

Hey, I've recently been using the SU-27SK and wanted to know how to switch on master arm, switch to guns and fire.

Thanks,

Hi.
I have downloaded the latest version of your great Su-27 and there is many new added features. Unfortunately I can not find any information about use of PNK panel - what are functions of individual switches and buttons. I have found how to turn on batteries, generators and engines, basing on inscriptions under the buttons, but I do not know how to unlock throttle manually (it unlocks automatically only when using autostart). Could you please provide information on new features?
Thank you in advance.

jeffb wrote in Sat Jul 17, 2021 2:14 pm:[...] how do I download this??

  1. Go to the Su-27SK Git repo (in essence the development repository) linked to in the signature at the bottom of every post by yanes.
  2. Click the green Code button and choose Download ZIP.
  3. Create a folder on your computer for example "Custom aircraft" and unzip the files there.
  4. Rename the unzipped folder and remove the "-master" part of the name of the folder. This is important as many things otherwise will be broken, in particular will FlightGear be unable to find the 3D model and the infamous yellow and blue glider will be shown instead of the Su-27SK. The "-master" part is something that GitHub add to the aircraft folder name.
  5. In the FlightGear launcher go to the Add-ons page, and in Additional aircraft folders click the Add ( + ) icon and add not the aircraft folder, but the folder you created and unzipped the aircraft folder in. This will make it possible for FlightGear to find the aircraft in the folder you created.
  6. You should now be able to find the Sukoi Su-27SK under Installed aircraft in the Aircraft page in the launcher.

If you would happen to be familiar with the Git version control software you could instead of downloading the Zip file do a shallow clone into the folder you created and point FlightGear to the folder above the cloned repo. The advantage with that is that if there are updates you could do a "git pull" and only download the changes instead of the entire aircraft. A few aircraft, in particular some fighters and airliners, have updates quite often (in periods several updates per week).
