Shame! But maybe you can continue it from that older version. Make backups always, incremental if possible, to Internet or HDD, USB sticks, etc. You can have a lot of private space on most of the internet file hosting services, but to have collaborative projects too (git...)

This is why I always keep refreshed versions of aircraft I'm making on a thumb drive, not sure if I trust cloud storage for my plane's 3D content.

I found it! I was looking for a photo of an old radial engine and I found my backup copy buried among a bunch of junk. I've got a few more tweaks, then I'll release it to the community here. Hopefully someone will make it fly.

Ok, I'm releasing this aircraft under the GPL license. All I ask is that I get credit for my work (both 3D and 2D). Here's the link:

I sure hope someone can make it fly in Flightgear some day.

How's this?

I just hooked up your model to a different FDM (Cub). But it is really that easy to get a model in FlightGear. Maybe I can get one of the more talented FDM people to make an FDM for it and I would be willing to slowly bring it to life. Or maybe I can take a stab at it with AeromatiC++
Kansas(2-27-15)/Ohio/Midwest scenery development.

It's a lovely 3d model. If you find the detailed geometry, mass, and airfoil information (ideally make (or find) an OpenVSP model) - then maybe my aerotool will produce something that's flyable. I'm volunteering to have a go at this if you help.

OK, I've got some info already included in the ZIP file there. I thought the mass was there, but maybe not. I'll do some more research.

For legal reasons could you please clarify the version? There is currently GPLv1, GPLv2, and GPLv3 and these are all quite different from a legal perspective. If you look at the FlightGear policy document you will see that, for the project, version 2 of the license with the with the "or any later version" option is currently used. I.e. GNU GPLv2+, as the FSF write it.

It would be much appreciated if it was GPLv2+, rather than GPLv2, as that allows it to be added to FGAddon and would hopefully motivate an FDM to be developed.

One small little thing I noticed is that the Kinner's engine usually turns to the clockwise or right handed rotation, and you have moddeled a left handed propeller. It's not a big deal, but it will effect the amount and direction of propeller torque force.

Update: I've reversed the propeller on the 3d model. So the download link above should show that change as of a few minutes ago.

Try posting your pictures somewhere else because the ones on page 1 are not displaying correctly (photo not found).
