Yeah, I also would like a paintkit :) I'll add some details on the bare white livery :)

Correct! Even on other planes you can't see these outlines. I think here in Flightgear, they add some detail to the model. Please look at the B777. Some liveries have these outlines, some don't. I think the ones with the very small outlines look better and more detailed than the ones without. The new textures of my 747 have a resolution of 4096x2048 and the outlines are just in light grey and 1 pixel wide, I think that's ok. Have a look at the 747-8i without the lines:

I think the whole model looks boring and undetailed.
Regards, Florian!

Pretty much every single model I've seen in FG with these outlines I've disliked (the outlines). The 737-300 is one example. The Air Berlin livery looks nice except to me the lines destroy it. On the real plane you can't really see them. Same plane, KLM livery, same thing to me.

Really the only liveries I like it on is the 'tin-cans' that look like aluminum.

So, I obviously don't know how this stuff is done, but I seem to recall some liveries where some "dirt" or discoloring has been added to the paint, so the plane doesn't look all shiny and new, and I kind of like it. It gives it more texture.

Successfully removed the EPR portion of the EICAS. now N1 comes out top and EGT below, screenshots tomorrow, (on mobile now), calling FlorianK, if you plan a cockpit re-do, I did one, sounds are soon to follow. ;)

How my cockpit looks like

Replaced the old fonts with Futura MD BT (the one used in in real Boeing 747s) and also removed the EPR gauge on the EICAS.

any news here? I'm dying waiting for this update, I went flying FSX, still the PMDG 747-8 is no match for this, since its VC is only a clone copy from the -400

So is this one at the moment. The color cjanged., but not much else.

Comparing FSX to FGFS is a bad idea, since most planes aren't finished yet. :)

That's not entirely accurate, it0uchpods. Way more stuff works in the 747-8. The visual is similar, but the back end is completely different.
