""Small"" improvements?
It looks nearly as nice as the Cessna!

Thanks, lego 8) Really, most credit should go to Heiko, what an amazing 3D model he has came up with. Texturizing it is being so much fun :D I think as soon as we have all instruments in place and make everything clickable in the cockpit, this plane will be really nice.

And by the way, these interior textures are unfortunately not yet in the repository as we still have to solve some small UV-mapping issues before pushing them, but they should be very soon. Then I will work on the exterior model!

That is my new favorite word, Mig29.
And that is certainly a -very- good idea.

Hey guys, I had thought about it and I will do that soon, but probably for the next newsletter. I also would rather wait a bit more until the model has progressed a little bit (right now in the repository it has no interior textures, the cockpit isn't clickable and lacks several instruments, while others are mispositioned). Soon I will do it, probably for the next newsletter in January :)

Some updates: Heiko is doing a major revision of the 3D model as it turned out the 182 S and T models are not only larger than what he had first came up with but also have (slightly) different proportions. Here are some shots of the new model:

Once this new model is pushed to the repository, it will also have some minor fixes which are preventing me from pushing the interior textures. This means that soon all this work will be available to all.

Incidentally is the spinner using the default reflection shader?

Hmm, that's a question to Heiko and not for me, but he isn't in the forum. You can try having a look at the repository, if you know what to look for to find the answer for that question.

Yes, it is. Incidentally, do you know what this means in 182/models/182.ml?
Code: Select all
73 <effect>
72    <inherits-from>Aircraft/c182/Models/Effects/c182sreflect-uber</inherits-from>
73    <parameters>
74          <reflection-correction type="float">1.0</reflection-correction>
75          <reflection-dynamic type="int">1</reflection-dynamic>
76    </parameters>
77    <object-name>chrome_spinner</object-name>
78 </effect>

I think that is the part of the code which calls the effect "c182sreflect-uber", located at c182/Models/Effects/. I think that effect uses a cubemap of some sort to deal with reflection. But really MIG, effects is really not my area at all and these are just guesses based on how these files look. If you are truly interested, try contacting Heiko or maybe wlbragg here in the forum, as they both are very knowledgeable about these.
