Hi there, I’m practicing landings recently and I’m not sure the flaps are behaving as they should.

Specifically, the max flap setting allow me to glide very slowly, and very far without loosing significant altitude.
That is so strong that i have trouble bringing her down, let alone talk about stall horn landing.

At my expectations wrong, or do we have a glitch in the fdm?

Forget what i posted.
With the recent aircraft data and recent FGFS it works like designed.

Fantastic, guys!
The Davtron clock is fun, the KAP140 terrific and the new yaw behavior a real game (airplane) changer!

Regarding the C182T,
Have you thought of implementing the zkv1000 instead of the FG1000? The zkv1000 is much easier on fps, doesn't have that nasty anti-aliasing effect when zoomed out, and is more functional.

Hi cyyz_spotter, i openend a ticket for investigation. Thanks!
https://github.com/HHS81/c182s/issues/415

Another cool thing would be to troubleshoot the FG1000 for performance. Surely the performance issues can be found and fixed.
Stuart once said, its just a proof of concept and not yet finished/optimized.

Hi cyyz_spotter,

I'm not planning to add the zkv1000 to the c182T for a number of reasons, the most fundamental is that the zkv1000 isn't an accurate emulation of any glass panel installed on any aircraft. The FG1000 emulates with some accuracy the Garmin G1000 that is installed on the real 182T.

Don't know if I'm crazy or what...but I pulled up the C182T on my new PC and the weird anti aliasing effect on the FG1000 was gone

might be that the c182t uses a little different shader effect setup than the c182s uses...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Regarding the "crippled gear issue":
Recently we did a FGAddon release for 2020.4.0.
If you use 2020.4.0 and see other C182s/t's from 2020.3.*, you will see the gear collapsed.

The reason is that the 2020.3 FGAddon version does not transmit the neccessary MP packets, because there gear collapse is not yet simulated.
The fix is that the 2020.3 pilot upgrades to at least 2020.4.0 and fetch the new plane version, OR manually download the GIT version (i *think* it should be compatible to 2020.3.*).

I also just documented that in the wiki: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Cessna_182S ... ues.2FTODO
There are also new instructions on using the GIT version: https://wiki.flightgear.org/Cessna_182S ... it_version

Just flown the github c182s (master, same as the fgaddon/trunk version that recently come out).

With FGFS stable (2020.3) everything looks fine so far, so i think it is safe to say its compatible :)

Upgrading to the recent FGAddon/trunk or (GIT version) also fixes the issue that you see other multiplayer C182 pilots completely black (or way too bright).

Hello,
I spent the last weeks implementing spark plug fouling. I think this is now ready for merge, or at least broader testing.

Here the pull request: https://github.com/HHS81/c182s/pull/443; referencing this branch: Issue-439_SparkPlugFouling
The implementation is generic, so may be a candidate for porting over to the C172 project.

Testing is easy: Just grab the branch from github (if downloaded manually, rename the folder), start flightgear and start the new tutorial. It will teach you all the do's and don'ts and will show the effects.

Please tell me what you find!

We soon can use the C182S/T to haul up parachuters :)
