So do we want a var pitched prop choice on the Super Cub 95 and/or 150 or do we need a 125 hp variant?

Trying to do a bit of reality check on this.
Apparently there are modifications for the big engines https://www.propilotsinc.com/pa-18-12-propeller-conversion/, but not for 95hp.

Difficult to judge with so many modified cubs around.
Maybe it makes sense to have a simple fixed prop 95 on wheels in the package, as it would make a good transition between the 1947 version and the ones on steroids.

Well, we already have a fixed prop 95. What I ended up doing was adding the option for a VP prop for both the 95 and 150 Super Cub. They both can be changed from 15 to 30.
The fixed props are set to...
65hp = 15
95hp = 19
150hp = 20
I'll push it later tonight.

Pushed some updates to FGADDON (SVN) and Git repository.

VP Prop 15 - 30, wow does that add flexibility.
Fixed props set to...
65hp = 15
95hp = 19
150hp = 20

Added a few more tutorials. These were copied from c172p and modified to the Cub and Super Cub.

it-stec55x now has a custom EIS, all that is left to do is the fuel management tie-in.

The Super Cub is coming along nicely. It is such a versatile aircraft with all the bells and whistles!

If you haven't visited this site yet, there is a lot of reliable information especially in the FAA certificates on this page.

I have never seen an airplane with a ground adjustable pitch in FG. Will a Cub model be the first? :)

Thanks Johan
I used them last year for my Datcom, and (hopefully soon to be resumed) CFD work.
The 3d model that is currently in FGAddon appears to be from a good set of model aircraft plans.

Hello,

I have one quesion. It is possible that some parts of G1000 logic is causing huge frame rate drop in version with classic cockpit.
Few months ago (I have last screenshots from this plane from Febuary) I used to fly with this plane quite a lot and I had about 15-20 FPS, but currently I have about 5 FPS (no matter which version I choose G1000 or classic as well as PA 18 or J-3 from 1946). I am using J-3 Cub installed directly from FG 2020.1.3 luncher. Similar very low FPS I have also in other planes with G1000 like C182T or DA40.

Best regards
Jakub

I isolated the FG1000 from the rest of the variants at one point in time because of that very behavior. So I don't know what's up with that. Maybe the version your using is prior to that change.

Look in J3Cub-FG1000-set.xml and see if the following code is in the file at about lines 41 - 51.

Code: Select all
<systems>
            <autopilot>
                <path>Aircraft/Instruments-3d/FG1000/GFC700.xml</path>
            </autopilot>
        </systems>
    </sim>
    <nasal>
        <j3cub>
            <file>Nasal/fg1000.nas</file>
        </j3cub>
    </nasal>

If that is in the file, then you have the version that has FG1000 isolated from the other variants. If not, then you can get the most current from https://github.com/wlbragg/J3Cub
