BTW (sorry for my ignorance): is there a way to automatically download each new update without having to go to the github page and download the zip? With subversion, or something like that?

Anyway, and again, great job!

Never mind. It's just the AT arm lever that doesn't move. Everything else seems to work. Sorry!
Waiting for the cabin/passenger views.

because AT ARM and custom AUTOTHROTTLE are not done yet!
So it defaults back to the IT-AUTOFLIGHT autothrottle, which is a generic one, which doesn't use a AT ARM system.

you do it with git... git is like SVN and CVS and other repositories but it has its own protocol and methods...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

I believe this project will be the best in FlightGear, also will be a NGX competitor.

When it's stable, yes.
It's far from stable at the moment.

Hey, I recently found time to review the latest version a little...

I think the achievements already got are very great, and I think we are definitely able to create one of the best jets in FG...

Well, here are a few suggestions, to make this plane even better. I mainly focus on the "eye candy", respective little details and features, that make flying it nicer and cooler...

- What you may know, is that the wings and the tail are not really rendered like the fuselage, they lack a little of the reflection the fuselage has.
- About the wings, I think the basis color should be a little more grey, and if you'll find time, giving the flaps a little different color than the rest of the wing would
be really great. If you'll find even more time, maybe you can model the emergency exit paths on the wings...
- The remaining parts of the wing, which weren't recolored by the last update, would look nicer with other textures, I'm sure you know what I mean
- Another huge improvement would be to have a light map. On the one hand, on the exterior, making the logo, landing and wing lights really effective.
On the other hand, in the cockpit. A light map in the cockpit with useable and variable lights e.g. on the panel, would be incredibly impressive.
If you want, take a look at the CRJ series for FG, and you'll realize what I mean...
- Could it be possible to add window reflection, and rain window effects as well?? Would be cool!!!
- Finally, this is now REALLY going into sophistication...
But, wouldn't it be nice to have the captains/ crew announcements fit for the airline you fly, or at least in the right language. That would mean to separate
different announcement-folders, and connect them to the chosen livery.
So if I choose e.g. American Airlines, the announcements would be in english, but if I choose e.g. TUI or Air Berlin, I'd hear them in german. Also the safety
instructions and boarding music could be airline specific.
I know that this is really more of a nice-to-have-thing, but if someone could code a connection of the livery.xml with the announcement system, and create one example announcement folder for me, I'd try to find matching sound files for the airlines and create them one after another...

These are a few suggestions for improvements,

as always, please take this as an attempt to help developing this aircraft, NOT to put pressure on you developers. I know that there are more urgent things that need to be done, than the ones I mentioned. But finally, I hope that my suggestions help you, and bring the project forward.

As you already state it, it's a nice-to-have but not really considerable, at least IMO because of the huge impact on the file size. Looking at the 767, only the safety instructions take about 0.75 MB. This may sound quite less and I was impressed myself how little this is, but if we consider there are 55(!) liveries, so if every livery has like 6 sound files (welcome, pre-startup, safety, takeoff, cruise, landing, parking position, ...) we will already have another (about) 250MB to ship with the aircraft!!!
Generally it's easy to connect liveries with announcements via simple <condition> tags in the xml files, but are you sure you want every user to download a quarter Gigabyte of sound files only for announcements?
Regards
D-ECHO
PS: Though, the other stuff should be quite easy to manage @gabriel @Joshua if you need help with lightmap or window reflection etc. I can try to help

Well, you are right, of course...
But, D-ECHO, would you please do me a favor, and add the additional <condition> tags as well as a custom folder and an example livery for me, because even if we can't ship it with the plane itself, I can add the sounds to my machine in the first step and maybe someday publish something as an "addon", that everyone who want this feature, can download it himself.

Thanks for your help offered to the other improvements, I really look forward to the further development.

P.S: @D-ECHO: Can you send me the xml and instructions via PM?? Thank you in advance

@flycanarias, it's pretty easy, so I will explain it here and maybe another one can get profit from it as well:
-Livery: In the XML livery file e.g. beneath <name> you add this:
Code: Select all
            <announcements>german_TUI</announcements>

for example.
-Sound: In the sound file, you add something like this:
Code: Select all

<safety>
<name>safety</name>
 <path>Aircraft/737-800/Sounds/Announcements/german_TUI/safety.wav</path>
 <mode>once</mode>
 <condition>
 <and>
  <property>controls/switches/safety</property>
<equals>
  <property>sim/model/livery/announcements</property>
<value>german_TUI</value>
</equals>
 </and>
 </condition>
  <volume>
   <property>sim/sound/Evolume</property>
  </volume>
  <position>
      <x>0.00</x>
      <y>0.00</y>
      <z>-0.00</z>
 </position>
 <reference-dist>10.0</reference-dist>
 <max-dist>100.0</max-dist>
</safety>

Regards
And then do this for every announcement with the respective conditions/properties.
