Postby MountainFlyerN22 » Fri Apr 17, 2015 9:18 pm

I really interested in Bush planes and Bush flying. So it's natural I like working on Bush planes for FG.

I'm have no prior experience with anything like this so I'm learning as I go.
So here are some I've done so far, most are still being slowly touched up.

MountainFlyerN22, did you account for the extra weight, drag or anything else in the FDM with these additions? I'm not criticizing, just curious because that is my next step on any that I am modifying and applying a bush kit to. I want mine to be as accurate as possible (boy do I have a lot to learn  ).

I'm finding out on the c172p-detailed that adding damage and bush kit and all their animations is no simple feat. There is a lot to consider. The Cub, I just slapped some big tires on it and changed the offsets, but I kept it in it's own world. It gets real challenging when you start combining them and adding switchable flexibility.

Over all,not yet.

The SuperCub,Cessna 172p,Cessna 182, where done shortly after you first did the J-3. So not really.

In the Turboprop J-3 I made some some fixes to the FDM other than the engine.

The other Turboprops (170,172p) I just changed the engine files and tried to fix the livery.

And the Cessna 170 and the PA-20 are probably the most well done, only the PA-20BW does not have weight or drag added.

But I'm willing to learn.

OK, is he stationary or moving? That is one heck of a rotation down to the tail gear!

If this is a real pic. That craft is moving to the speed he gained enough lift to bring tail up... That's what I see.

For anyone interested BushCub.

Includes,
bush tires (not tuned yet),
fog and frost (heat and air controllable through properties for now),
3 selectable fuselage shadows (1 non-ALS, 2 ALS),
exterior rain and dirt effects,
interior shadows,
internal reflections,
off road tire dust,
on road tire smoke.

Potentially soon to come,
tuned bush tire fdm adjustments,
gear damage including blowouts,
sparks on wingtip, tail and fuselage hits,
other structural and major damage system,
heat and air control knobs in cockpit,
accumulative exterior dirt effects (including a wash me dialog switch?),
ski gear,
crop dust (have to research)?

That's all I can think of for now.

Thanks for posting your Bushcub Wlbragg. Looks amazing. :D
I'll need to get 3.5 just for the sake of that plane.

I was trying to put the Cropdusting on the J-3 (I assume you saw that.) No much luck yet.

I'm thinking of fixing the rather bad pair of skis I originally added to the J-3. Would that be of much help?

Good luck.

Absolutely, that's on my wish list. I want to try to duplicate some commercially available product that might be out there for the Cub or similar anyway.

Me too because you put it in my head! :) I just got away from it for awhile.

Try this:
