It's not that simple as I just checked and it is OSG that is handling the WM_CLOSE and it doesn't look simple to intercept this and prompt the user.

We're getting ready to revamp the way saved data and states are currently handled in order to correctly use the QT-launcher options. We can evaluate the need (or not) of how to handle window close (X) command at that time.

I have tried (FGFS 3.1, stock C172) system failures and both pitot and and vacuum failures cannot be activated. Other items are fine. Can anyone confirm on his installation?

Just a side note to the C172 devel team and users of it - a friend of mine has an instagram account where you will likely see (among other things) a familiar aircraft and livery - the OH-CTL on floats, one of the inspirations for the whole idea to put the c172p on floats, and to make other bush plane options and the 180hp engine.

Request for Livery due to Historical Reenactment...

Postby TeXnicer » Mon May 04, 2020 10:32 am

Dear DEV-Team,
I like to reenact the historical flight of Mathias Rust starting 13 may - 33 years after this event.

Therefore I like to have the original livery (http://liveries.flightgear.org/liveries.php?id=970) made official, so people in Multiplayer can see it: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=37393&p=366999&hilit=rust#p366999

ummm... i pointed you (with a link even) to the c172p dev team's github repo to post this in... they/we read there a lot more often than in here ;)

https://github.com/c172p-team/c172p

there's the link again... please post a new issue there with this information and request if you would like the team to possibly help... there's less than 10 days left till the anniversary...
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

In all honesty I don't know that you will have any better luck on the dev list. Most of the people who work out of that area are working more on systems, model enhancements and bugs. What you really need is to get someone good at livery painting. They are out there. Get me the livery texture and I will personally see to it that it gets in the dev master version. 10 days is really short notice. Would need it within a couple to few. I think anyone following the dev thread is seeing this as well.

Just saw in the other dedicated event thread you found the livery, I plugged it in to the livery as is and it works fine. So I guess your good to go. Anyone participating needs to unzip it into the livery folder of their local c172p and they will be good to go.

That texture seem to be for a fairly old version of our aircraft. We have added a lot of new textures in the places that were originally empty in the texture map, and I am afraid some of those will cause problems (e.g. the propeller spinner texture is missing in that livery). We also made a lot of small adjustments to the 3D model itself which required adjustments in the liveries we had, so I don't think this one will look too good (expect mismatches between the top part of the nose and the sides of the aircraft, the tail section, details in the wing tips, etc). So this would require a fair amount of work in order to make it look as good as the other liveries in the project. But if you are satisfied with it as it is, then I guess all you need to do is ask all participants to unpack the zip file into the aircraft folder, as wlbragg says.

@gsagostinho thanks for clarifying this. I didn't look close and the interior appeared to be using a default (red/black) so it looked OK.

The interior will default to our default interior texture, which will look as good as with our own liveries. But the exterior has some issues, which can be seen in the screenshots above: the nose cone (spinner) is untextured, the propeller is untextured, the air intake holes by the sides of the spinner are untextured, there is a mismatch between the right-hand side of the texture and the nose (the golden line does not align properly), the blue detail in the leading edge of the tail does not align (see the shot from the top), the proportion of the wing texture changes so the wingtip details look smaller and are located much more inside the wing than they should, I believe the normal map of the wings changed proportion too, and if you look closely I'm sure you'd find some more things.

I thought I posted most of those issues with the images but guess I forgot to update the post. Also the nav lights have no textures on the old livery texture sheet.

Oh yes you did, you just didn't mention that you were seeing them. All that you wrote is that the interior looked ok, so I wasn't sure you were missing those issues. I think we are both agreeing :)
