This is how it looks after some hours work :D :

As you can see the wing are missing at the moment but they will be added soon. The fuselage has to be changed a little bit. All objects that can move are named in Blender. Soon I'll UVmap the L-188.

Yes it is GPL, the author (niltondc) accepted the GPL license.

That's looking great MV-DP :D
If we gave everybody in the World free software today, but we failed to teach them about the four freedoms, five years from now, would they still have it? Probably not, because if they don’t recognise their freedoms, they’ll let their freedoms fall

Did you use a cloned main gear wheel for the nose gear?
Looks a bit large to me...

Yes, I cloned it from the main gear. But I'll change it when I find the size of the nose wheel in a blueprint. Because in some blueprints it has the same size as the main gear (which is completly wrong).

"...The L-188 Electra is the optimal large capacity or "heavy" air tanker for the control of wild fires..."

The http://www.airspray.com/l188-electra.html is a very special application for Electra, I'd be curious to see a version for FGFs ...

The P3-Orion is a very important version of the L188 Elctra... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_P-3_Orion
It would be very exciting to be able to make a version that produces this wonderful aircraft, it certainly is not easy, I think that the military equipment is very different from the civil, but it would certainly be a very interesting aircraft. Maybe introducing the torpedo and buoys to detect submarines ...

Don't forget the freight version

I do want to include this one also, and maybe the air spray plane also. But if i want to make the P-3 Orion it would become a new project because it has a completly different cockpit and cabin.

Yup, the P-3 is basically a different airplane.

Well, from the photo, I'd say that a nose wheel is about 65 to 75% the size of a main gear wheel.

Other than that, there might be more info here:

This could also be useful:

Thanks Bjoern, I found the tyre size in the blueprint on http://www.flightglobal.com/pdfarchive/ ... 01605.html.
It is 7.50-14 so the wheel diameter of the nose wheel is 805 mm.
