Tu144 model

Postby tu144man » Sat Sep 06, 2014 6:43 am

A while back I made (what I think is...) a very high quality Tu-144 3D model, but on several attempts I couldn't program the flightgear xml files effectively. Now that it's been sitting on my hard drive dormant for over a year, I'm willing to give it away to the public, I'm just not sure how to go about it. I.e. where to post the files.

All modelling is based on browsing hundreds of images off the Internet (which I've downloaded and kept). The exterior is nearly complete (landing gear, windshield wipers, lighting, pitot tubes, etc... need work) and all interior surfaces but not furniture (except on the flight deck). The flight deck is not populated with instruments but otherwise interior is mostly finished. All textures are placeholders and need to be replaced with permanent texs.

The quick way is probably to upload it to some file sharing web site like, for example mediafire.com. And post a link on the forum, for example in this topic.

Make sure you both have some form of contact information, in case someone have questions, and some statement on what kind of reuse you would allow. If you do not mind commercial reuse all too much I would strongly recommend releasing it using the GNU GPL v2, as that is what the official aircraft uses (in essence allowing it to be added to the official hangar if someone would pick it up).

Hi tu144man ! I'm Nuno Seletti, founder of Worldwide Airways VA and World Cargo Airways VA !

I'm pretty interested to add the TU-144D in World Cargo Airways VA fleet to improve our freighter operation and deliver our cargo faster than before and deliver them to any place in the world.

I've try myself to use the blank livery to made mine but I'm struggeling with that. If you agree, can I ask you if you want to make a livery of my virtual airline for the 144 ?

Best regard,

Nuno Seletti
