No, it was definitely not intended. I think I've made some mistakes causing some outdated code getting into the files (though I'm still not sure of what have exactly happened). Sorry about that!

Kind regards,
Sidi

Hi developers,
I need some help on the 777.
Downloaded the latest version and started flying.
I don't know how but my Autopilot does not toggle for some reason. When I press the toggle button the AP disengages.
And when I click the VNAV button (with no autopilot toggled!) my plane goes to a 35 degree climb and I had to pitch it down to prevent stalling.
Could you guys see what's wrong?
Best regards,
Mars.

Hi both,

Regarding the autopilot not engaging: you have to make sure you have the controls (about) centered when engaging the autopilot. When the yoke or rudder are not centered, the autopilot is disengaged automatically, so you need to stabilise/trim the plane before engaging autopilot, as is needed IRL to prevent sudden attitude changes.

Regarding VNAV seemingly taking over without the autopilot engaged: the developers of that system have left, and I'm afraid I can't be of any help because I don't know the system. The only hint I can give is to engage VNAV on the ground, before takeoff (you have to activate the flightplan in the route manager before you can do this). After takeoff, VNAV and autopilot will engage automatically.

I hope this helps you on.

Kind regards,

Isaak

Thanks. Got it working.
But sometimes pressing 5 is a little bit dangerous as you have to react quickly or you'll stall...

Ive been flying the 777 for a bit now but i had to go every time before i could land. Is the 777 in fg capable of a full autopilot landing? The 747-8i its AP disconnects at 50 feet for me.

Also will the magic sound that the GE90's (atleast the -115b) produce be added to the plane?
Currently flying the 737-800YV / MD-11-GE / 747-8I / 777-300ER

Yes, the 777 can perform a full autolanding. Only on airports with multiple runways that share the same ILS frequency this system can malfunction, but this issue is situated FG-side.

When I started flying in FG, everytime landed manualy. I discovered ILS autoland feature after 50 hours :). First landing attempt with 737 was ofcourse spectacular crash :) Second attempt - I was too long and overran runway. After more than 1000 hours in Concorde I was able land on almost any runway longer than 1600 meters. Then I switched to other sim and first landing attemp with 737 again ended with tailstrike followed by crash, because touchdown was with 11 deg pitch angle in Concorde style. After 100 hours I have not problem with Kai Tak, Funchal or Paro.
Training makes a master.

Never use other sims as reference... they might not be accurate. Always use pictures of the real thing

PMDG uses data from boeing ITSELF (they have some sort of partnership), and you cant have all the photos of the real thing. but if dont want it then no problem.
