Hi all, greetings from Indonesia. My name is Juliandi, and I mostly flew in FlightGear using Airbus A320 from Octal450.

So I just downloaded this Boeing 777 Seattle using hangar from the launch menu, and I must say the cockpit looks great! I can't wait to try and fly this plane. However, when I switched to outside view the airplane is all black. I tried every livery provided and it doesn't change at all. Do you happen to know what's causing it and how to fix it?

Thanks for your help!
Kind regards,

Juliandi

Hello Juliandi,
combined with the concrete texture, this looks like a quite common graphics bug, could you please confirm which Graphics Card (manufacturer+model) you use?
Regards

Hello D-ECHO,

I'm using NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB running on MacOSX High Sierra. It should be fine, isn't it?

The graphics card should be working well with FG, even though I reckon there were a few problems with Mac OS, although I can't find them currently. Sorry, but someone else will need to help you there.

no worries... I'm just curious, though, as it really is a bit annoying to see the graphics bug like that :D

Hi,

Are you using 2019.1? If yes, are you using DDS texture cache? DDS isn't supported on mac now, so it will appear as black.

Kind regards,
Sidi

Just for the record, are you working on CDU these days? Are you trying to simulate more functions?

Regards,
George

Hi George,

Unfortunately, no for now as I'm quite busy with school work (and will be busier as I will take the National College Entrance Exam next year). Also, our focus has changed from adding more functions to switching to canvas framework which Gijs and James have been working on. It won't happen until next year though, I guess.

Kind regards,
Sidi

Hi Sidi,

Thanks for your help. I finally figured out what happened after reading ur response. So I checked the custom shader box and here's what happened:

- if I set the model slider just 1 notch to the right, this happened

Image

- but if I move the model slider all to the left the aircraft looks perfect! :o

Image

problem solved, I guess

I think I'm gonna keep this setting forever :D

Thanks again!
Regards,

Juliandi

ps: I'm still using FlightGear v2018.3.2 :)

Hi Isaak,
Apparently I along the way broke the A/P Pitch Yoke backdriving. Its now fixed. Requesting your permission to merge stable into 2018.3 and 2019.1.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Please go ahead, nothing much pending on my side, only some small bugfixes in the payload logic that won't interfere. Thanks!

Hello!
New Video I make showing some explanations of my FlyByWire system and Demo.

Hope it helps somebody!

Please don't subscribe my channel because it will not have FG stuff just Xbox 360 Repair/Modding stuff. So unless you are interested in that please don't subscribe. Thanks for your understanding.

Kind Regards,
Josh

PS: About the landing - speed dropped very fast when A/T went to IDLE because YAsim has no ground effect modelling and its drag model sucks! So that is why the speed was so low so fast!
