From what I can tell comparing the start sequence, its sounds and indications to a few videos on YouTube, it is rather spot on, though not that loud (though they was not dampened by the helmet, see below) and a just slight bit fast (though I expect an experienced pilot could probably do that; the videos often seem to be by ground crew).


Pilot helmets have built in hearing protection as the noise level in a jet fighter cockpit is around 100 dB (A). In a typical work place you would wear hearing protection before you get to 80 dB (A). Note that the perceived sound level doubles every 3 dB.

This is probably overkill, but if you want to have slightly different sound to differentiate between pilot view and an action camera view, and would want to know the acoustic dampening through the pilot helmet, and assuming that the pilot would be using the ubiquitous Gentex ACS helmet, a detailed and accurate dampening curve is available on on page 41 in Pentti Kuronen (2004). Indeed this is somewhat fast, it's as fast as the simulation allows me to. You don't want to sit around and wait for every switch to be set one-by-one when you want to go flying :lol: . Compared to the Quick Start it was it's already quite a bit slower.
As for the sound, these are the native sounds of the model, these are not changed by this.

Version 3.54 has hit the Launcher/FGAddon for 2020.3.x versions of Flightgear.

The changes listed here covers since end of May 2020.

Major changes
Weapon launch, hits and misses will when MP damage is enabled no longer send MP chat messages, they will still do damage though (if engaging an aircraft compatible with this silent damage system).
When MP damage is enabled the flares can be seen over MP (by compatible aircraft).
A debriefing available from menu, when have wheel on ground that will inform about weapon and damage events.
Persistent craters for some weapons when MP damage is enabled.
Various livery and block specific updates.

Keybinds changes
ALT-Arrow keys now move the views.
SHIFT-Arrow keys now control which display is SOI (Display Management Switch)
Arrow keys control the radar cursor on the FCR MFD display. (if that display is SOI)

Considering the time spacing between the two releases, it's probably one of the largest and most consistent updates we've delivered in the past few months, with improvements all across the jet which really lifted the overall quality and realism of the F-16 in FlightGear. F-16 has been upgraded to version 3.55

On a related note, for those of you who like to do ground attacks, there is now a SA-2 surface to air missile system on FGAddon. Should hit the launcher later today or tomorrow, look for "S-75".

The error in ACM was due to me getting confused over inconsistency in naming, so this had to be changed to avoid future confusion. Changed about 10 uses in the f16.
Sim: Removed test from vector.nas unitTest that required loading of scenery close to KINS, served its purpose anyway. Replaced with something simple.

Pitch:
When you land or takeoff the trim will center.
When you are in air you can adjust it as you want.

Roll:
Any time.

Yaw:
Any time.

FGAddon / FG Launcher f16 has been updated to v. 3.70
It might take a day or so to get updated in the launcher.

Main changes
Fly by wire control has been updated by LJQC. These changes are from a newer control scheme than what used to be used. The diagram is very blurry so only certain aspects of this could be implemented, but what was done will really change how take-off, landing, rolling, pitching and also yaw is done.
The DED display pages has been expanded
Some minor updates to the helmet mounted HUD

Full changelog
Control: Move property to control early or late control scheme into set files. YF-16 and block 10 use early, rest use late. Non-functional for now.
Control: For now will enable ada189675 in block 10 also. Subject to change or be split into multiple properties later for more granular control.
Aero: Less ground effect.
Control: Removed lag on pitch channels actuators.
Control: MLG-GND now activates if only 1 wheel is touching ground instead of both.
Control: Reverted bias-bottom-lag back to 0.125 from 1.25.
Control: Changed some comments for some components.
Merge LJQC's commits into the controls file, but use property controlled from set files to set if the new paths and gains should be used. Note that some of these changes are considered fixes to old system and will not be able to be switched off. Changelog from LJQC: Correctly implement pitch-rate command and pitch-rate blended with AOA command. Use command gradient from 189675. Fix 167 deg/s limit of TO&LDG gains according to 189675. Fix pitch command gradient. Rudder authority limiter according to 1987 diagram. Roll rate feedback in pitch CAT-III according to 1987 diagram. Tune AOA feedback gain above 10 deg under takeoff&landing gains. Fix some gain values. Fixes #170. Adaptation of PR #472
Presets: Penguin 2-bag loadout added; GUI: New B20 splash
Control: Experiment to try and fix #170

Sim: Scenario opponents now give RWR spike audio.
