Time for another much-needed post on what's been done on the Viper this past few months (more or less chronological order):
- Improved 3D model for AIM-120B, AIM-9L, AIM-7F, CATM-9 and AN-T-17 training dummies.
- Fixes to some stores texturing.
- Many additions and edits to the RWR and RCS lists.
- Radar improvements.
- Payload quick menu optimized design with many more and updated configurations.
- Effect improvements for vapor, contrails, afterburner "jelly", flares, gun tracers, Smokewinders and more.
- HUD overhauled now with better CCRP, EEGS and new CCIP for better bomb release (particularly for unguided at low altitude).
- MFD now can be programmed with threat circles and outlines for mission-related areas or corridors.
- Link16 data (now with up to 8 entries), GPS coords, TACAN and transponder code are saved between sessions.
- DED now features more pages with a/c info reachable via ICP.
- Stores order sorted on pylons 3 and 7.
- MFD WPN page addition with weapons settings available, SIT and VSD removed as non-existing IRL.
- TGP improvements for GPS and more.
- Revised arming times, drag, weight and specs on weapons.
- Improved fuselage reflection effect.
- Many new and updated USAF and foreign liveries, including Thunderbirds 2, 3, 5 and 6.
- Fixed nosewheel steering would cause plane flip at certain speeds.
- External light reworked.
- Added 3 new "GoPro action cam" views: over-the-shoulder, backwards-looking and pilot selfie.
- New ACMI and AN/ALQ-184 pods added (thanks for Martien Van der P. for all the awesome 3D work).
- Added fire extinguisher, GPU cart and fuel truck when F-16 is parked and shut down.
- Major interior sound rework: new engine whine, rain, effects and most switches/knobs now can be heard when used.
- Improved cluster bomb explosion effect.
- Minor tweaks and bugfixes that make things going
.
It's an absolute fun working and flying this plane and I guarantee that there's more to come in the near future, stay tuned for a bunch of screenshots and some preview of the coming features.
Cheers, Mav
