Boeing 707-3J9C and 707-320C Download

Postby Andino » Mon Dec 17, 2012 12:16 pm

The download link is at this blog: http://andinogonthaeler.wordpress.com/

ImageI am working in a new version of the Boeing 707, based on the previous models in FG (Innis Cunningham and Isaias Prestes). I am taking as reference one of the last flying versions of the 707, the only one that is still fliying pasengers: the Boeing 707-3j9C. It was sold by Boeing to Iran, and it is now being used by Saha Airways. I will also include a Cargo version, which is used by many companies:

Here you can see the flightdeck of the 707-3J9C, a bit different from the usual in older versions of the 707:

And this is what I am doing:

The last version includes Airport Operations.

Looks like a good start - though you're going to need a (much) simpler glare-shield panel than the one from the 777!

Yes. But I thought to keep it initially like this, until I figure out how to install a more realistic autopilot.

ImageI have detected one mistake in the model .xml file. The gear was making strange things when retracted. It is a bug from a previous version that strangely reapeared in the released version. I have quickly corrected the problem.

The new version (v.43) is already at the download page:

http://andinogonthaeler.wordpress.com/boeing-707/

Sorry for the inconveniences. Just delete the previous version and install the new one.

The American Airlines Freighter Livery for the 707-320C is not loading properly. You only have to make a little change in the AAL.xml file, which is in /Aircraft/707-320/Models/LiveriesCargo
Code: Select all
<?xml version="1.0"?>

<PropertyList>
<sim>
    <model>
        <livery>
            <name type="string">American Airlines</name>
            <texture>LiveriesCargo/AAL.png</texture>
        </livery>
    </model>
</sim>
</PropertyList>

This is the correct code, with LiveriesCargo, instead of just Liveries... Sorry for the inconvenience.

From now on (21th December 2012, UTC 9:54), this little liveries bug is no more in the download version (v44).

By the way, I know there were more liveries for the 707 that the Liveries available at liveries.flightgear.org, but I am not able to find them. There was a Viasa livery, and also an Aerolines Argentinas livery, as they are mentioned in the forums. But the old links seem to be broken. If you have a free Livery for the 707, could you please share it?

Some Windows users, with low-end computers, may experience some problems loading the 707 in some locations. I would recomend to decrease the shaders option (in View--> Rendering Options) with other aircraft, and then load the 707.

Some people have suggested that the download should not start from 4shared or other sites that ask for identification. I think they are right. Now the download files are at dropbox, so it is easier to download.

Mediafire would be another option.

Thank you Bjoern, I will consider that. So far dropbox works good, too.
