How can I change the autopilot roll/pitch/yaw rates for new waypoint headings?
The default settings seem to be too low for my liking.

Hey Hooray,

Lol, This would require before the Russian and U.S. agree together to have the same équipemement and the same operation. But the idea is good :)

Could you explain what you mean?
Note: Only in a mode of automatic landing approach the autopilot directly controls flight.

When I load a flight plan and slave the AP heading control to the GPS bearing, it turns quite slowly (for a fighter) towards the new waypoint after crossing the last one.
I wish to know where I can configure the bank angle, etc. to increase this.

Note: I tried tweaking SAU-451.nas, but whatever I do doesn't seem to work.

The model controlled by its own autopilot. Using the default autopilot is is abnormal and is not supported.

Note: See the file Systems/SAU-451.xml.

Two things,

There is a naming error on this version of the Mig-29 in

Aircraft\MiG-29\Models\Cockpit\Lighting\ST-1\ST-1_10.xml

line 8
<path>ST-1_10_.ac</path>
should read
<path>ST-1_10.ac</path>

EDIT: scratch the above error. It's been corrected in the master in github...

and the one in git is at least missing the Effects folder.

Second, I looked at both this Mig-29 and the one that comes with FG in git. Other than the obvious.
Why two?
Why is the more developed one not in FG by default?
Is the default (underdeveloped one) in GIT, abandoned?
Is there suppose to be an Effect folder in the Git version that comes with FG or was it just stopped at that stage.

I tried downloading, but I get this:

Code: Select all
$ svn checkout http://svn.dev.flightgear.ru/mig-29
svn: E670002: Unable to connect to a repository at URL 'http://svn.dev.flightgear.ru/mig-29'
svn: E670002: Name or service not known

I am not very familiar with SVN (I usually use Git), so I am guessing I just used the wrong command, so if someone could help me out it would be great :)

SVN on flightgear.ru is dead, so all people from that SVN moved to github.

This is a nice plane as the cockpit is really well made and there is extensive documentation. Very few aircrafts have good documentation.

There is one thing I am missing from this plane: Things to happen when you go over the limits. It is nicely reporting if you put out the flaps at too high speed, so that is enough. However you can splash down into ground at any speed and the plane will continue to fly as nothing happened. Also the gears seem to take any kind of threatment you ever give. You can slam down at the nose gear with any speed and it will not break.

If you do something about this, please add a section in the documentation talking about the limits so you have them all in one place.

If this one would force you to stay inside of the limits it would very quickly become one of my favorite planes. I really like how the MiG-15bis is done and I am flying that plane most of the time because the limits are forced upon me.

can somebody tell me how to start this plane? I pressed "autostart", jacked up throttles, and toggled brake. But the thing won't fly!
I googled around and could not find anything....

Simply go to the menu, [Mig 29] and [Autostart]... Simply wait for the two spears of the instrument on the left, which I have circled in red, make a full turn (they are numbered 1 and 2). At the end of this phase the aircraft is ready for takeoff.

It just takes a little patience, and then finally is the beautiful plane leaves!

No, it is not red inside the plane. It is circled red so you know which instrument to look at.
