Quickie paintover

Postby pauljs75 » Tue Jan 30, 2007 9:06 pm

Just some playing with a quickie paint job using Tatoo. This probably doesn't do the mesh any justice  , but it does show the map I made is workable.

Hi, Paul.

Below are the links for my latest skin version as discussed on IRC. As I update it (add doors, details, etc), I'll update the files that are linked below, so anyone who is interested should check this thread later.

Sample shot:

JPG of the mesh template (hoping I'm using the right terms here ;):

Link to Adobe(tm) Photoshop(tm) PSD file for the mesh template:

UPDATE: I have verified that the GIMP can handle this file. I was able to edit it with GIMPshop 2.2.8.

As a general note, I'm not quite up to making 3D models myself yet, but I'd love to help anyone who might want some "skins" made.

BTW, there is currently a B206 airfcraft available to fly with FG, but it borrows from other heli models and livery. It would be "really nice" if interested parties could assist in getting a real JetRanger model flying! I'll do whatever I can.

Hi Paul,
very nice modell, it would be fine if a another developer could combine it with some sort of panel and a flightmodel.
You should point to your work at the FlightGear developers mailing-list as developers only seldom check this Forum, they are too busy :-)

(takes a really deep breath)

I've been poking through the existing flyable "b206" that looks suspiciously like a EuroCopter, and I'll bite. I'll try, by copying big chunks out of the bo105 model and changing things here and there, to make a version that at least resembles a JetRanger. I doubt I can do much for its actual flight model at this point, though.

There's going to be quite a lot of learning going on too, so don't hold your breath.

I am currently working on a panel for the B206. I had part of it working under Windoze and then switched over Linux and now it doesn't work properly. Once I figure out my problem, I can continue on. Wish me luck!
