Let L-410 Turbolet

Postby cossack90 » Tue Apr 03, 2012 9:34 pm

Let L-410 Turbolet is a beautiful STOL airplane from the Czech manufactor: "Let".

Javky | http://www.javky.cz/index.php?lang=en&artcl=FlightGear
did create this plane for FG 1.9 it also worked fine in FG 2.0 - a few of you may know this little plane. Would it be nice to see this one back in FlightGear?

This plane is great for STOL operations use around the world. Aswel for civil as for millitary operations.

I did contact Javky cause I thought that someone maybe want continue his work. The idea was that I should do that so I can use it in my VA.

But since I have joined the Tupolev Tu-134 project and I started with modeling UKKE. There is no time for the L-410 "upgrade project".

Maybe someone want to continue Javky's work?

If you want start please notice:
I and connect have the files of the plane.
There is no paintkit - Javky is searching for it on his hhd.
We think there is only need to rewrite the autopilot. Or maybe more data files to make sure this bird will work in the current versions of FG (2.4/2.6/GIT)

cheers,

Hey constyata27

As promised, I started yesterday the adaptation of L410 for FG2.7 (GIT version).

Currently I have almost finished the UV Map. The animated parts are ...... animated. The remains are still to be huge. All the interior mainly.
But as promised, I would send you a test version tomorrow.

P.S. The current texture is a low resolution version, but the high resolution version will follow.

I have a version on my hard drive that was almost working at one time (it's one of the only uses of the JSBSim turboprop aircraft models that I know of. If I can find that and update it to the latest version of JSBSim, I'll let you know.

Hey Artyom

Currently I have little time to work on Blender. But I still took the time to redo some part of pieddestal. Here be the result at this time :
Image

The longest is for me to redo all the instruments that currently do not in 3D but only xml. It's horrible, but I'm starting to understand it all :)

Hi,
Spotting the L-410 in Czech Airlines livery in the post below, I have to say it is good joke and recession but I think it is also fair to mention that it is not realistic. Although it might sound strange, our national airlines have never had L-410 in their fleet. They have been using ATR-42 or 72 for short lines instead. Actually, to be accurate, they used them for short time in 70's but that was in Czechoslovak era, so the company was not called Czech Airlines (CSA) but it was called Czechoslovak Airlines (also CSA) and had completely different liveries. L-410 was used for short regional flights. But as I said the operation under CSA was short. All CSA Turbolets were then moved to another state company called SlovAir.

The tipical livery for the most of the serial productuion in early 70's (version L-410A) was following:

In the second half of 70's, the version L-410 UVP came and the default factory livery was changed a bit. There were two main schemes - the red one and the blue one:

The mebership to the owner (i.e. Slovair, aeroclubs, Aeroflot, army etc.) was usually marked only by the name of the owner placed somewhere on the fuselage with using one of the default factory livery described.

It worth mention the wings in red scheme were all red while the wings in the blue one were white which is not so obvious from pictures.

Some different colour schemes were quite rare in socialistic era but there were few. Especially for exhibitions on fairs or for few big (state) companies which owned these planes as business planes:

After the colapse of comunism in eastern europe, the turbolets got into various private companies and the liveries has started to be very diverse as can be seen for example here:

Also the Turbolets sold to the South America and Africa have hunderts different liveries.

Hi Honzaku

Thank you very much for all this information. Personally I remake the L410 of Jiri Jiri Javurek that is no longer current standards of FG (Besides, it does not fly anymore because uses an old version of JSBSim).

I made a model of flight YASim that seems rather nice. And now I spend a lot of time to rebuild the dashboard that was not true 3D.

On textures, I took the original texture. The only one I've added is a military camouflage texture. Of course I remake the UV map and added a selector delivered. And of course added a paint kit.

The choice of textures will be done in last :)

Regards Emmanuel

I never give up my projects. Simply, I have a lot projects and I'm only human with two hands and a head :)

And for explain a little the time, I work on the dashboard, which was beautiful but with very old instruments. Make this update with correct 3D is very long.

Currently, there exist two versions of L-410 UVP-E. It would be great to remove this dichotomy and join the two versions into one... Both versions can be downloaded from wiki http://wiki.flightgear.org/Let_L-410_Turbolet . Both are in Git repository on Github. None of them is in Subversion repository on Sourceforge. It is very confusing.

Old version from Javky.
Image
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/l410uvpe
Propellers doesn't move. Yokes doesn't move. Interior is full of instruments.

New version edited by Helijah.
Image
https://github.com/FGMEMBERS/Let-L410
Propellers move. Yokes move. Interior is almost empty.

I took the new version from Helijah and made a few minor fixes:
* Fixed splashscreen definition.
* New splash screens.
* Added tyresmoke.
* Fixed engine running sound.
* XML files cleanup.
