Jt-5B autogyro

Postby mr_no » Thu Jan 19, 2012 3:00 pm

Hi. I'm new here.
After enjoying FG for some time I'd like to contribute to the project.
I've seen that many aircrafts have already been developed so I've turned to one passion of mine those little autogyros.
Those are funny looking with interesting flight-behaviour.

I've tried Emmanuels Hornet but it imo didn't have a good FDM. It took me some time to understand YASim but after some hard work I now have a satisfactory FDM.
The model is left to tweak and animate.
So here are some screenshots of JT-5B autogyro currently in development.

Very good idea!

Very promising.
We have one near the place where I'm living: http://www.west-ulm.com/spip.php?articl ... ocument=31 it's a Magni M16.

Good luck with your development.

It's been some time since the last update so here are some latest screenshots.
There's still a lot to do, like modelling small details and texturing it all properly. Also the cockpit isn't finished and some animations aren't there.
The release will be when I find it presentable for a beta-light release.

If it's flyable, please release it so we can test it.

Hi!
I am the designer of the JT-5B autogyro. Your 3D-model looks good. As you probably know I also have made a 3D model of the JT-5B (several years ago) which includes the VW-engine, too.
There is one visible mistake in your model. The throttle lever and its cover are on the left side of the cockpit. Canopy hinges are on the left side, too, and the canopy opening lever is on the right side.

WOW! Hi Jukka! :D
What an honor that you post in my thread!!!

I was inspired by your closed cockpit gyro and the fact that you provide plans on your website.
As you have noticed I'm not a professional model designer so the model sometimes lacks proper detail and accuracy. The lack of close up photos added to that.
There are many details missing for the reasons of "too much work". Canopy hinges and canopy opening lever are some of those.
I also took freedom of creating the right"hand rest" that doesn't exist.

But, the release version of the aircraft is in this thread HERE.
I think we should continue posting there.

Hi dear .

As I told you, my development around the Trixy Aviation gyro ( http://www.trixyaviation.com/en/princess ) is going on and I find a friend who is ready to help me but , since has never done a plane model in FG but only other simulation platform , I please ask you how long may take to approach this and do it.

We received yesterday the first 3D model from Trixy directly and also fo rthe animation we would like you to explain us/him how to do it , if you wish and have some time to consacrate: you can send me back to andrea.bonaiti@virgilio.it and bonomario@bluangel56.it, your ideas and suggestions.

Thank you in advance.

Andrea
