When is this going to be finished? So I can put a review of it on the FG Blog?

guys can i ask you to be patient.

The whole model took only about 3 weeks to do,and i'm a complete beginner.

And DFABER has done wonders to have a workable FDM in only a few short days and our thanks should go to him.

As for the extra vertices this is something that can be worked on.

I havent downloaded it yet to fly which i'm going to do right after this line of words...

Thanks for the good comments and once again thanks to DFABER

Wonderful!

The canopy looks black, and I assume that there's a chrome/glass shader used for it. In fg/osg there's currently a bug that often renders shaded objects black. You can "fix" this by pressing 'Z' several times (12 is usually enough), and then 'z' as often again. I have the same problem in the bo105.

I assume you have enough photos already, but here are some nice ones, sharp and high res:

Also note that there are some more EF/Typhoon galleries, with links in the bottom left box.

This is some mysterious thing sketchup has produced (if you look close to the Canopy frame you see clear Material, which I meant to use) Sketchup somehow sets the material per face. I needed to export the hood to .ac and hand edit the per face materials to get it completely clear. Very strange.

Not yet, also the slats are not functional. I need to watch some more videos to find out how they are operated.

Btw. Alex, would you agree to put your model under the GPL so I can submit it to CVS?

yes detlef, thats what its all about.

please feel free to add the GPL license into the files.

can you remind me what you had to do to get the faces showing, the ones that mysteriously dissapeared.

My APACHE is doing the same thing when i export it from .skp into .ac via blender.

In SketchUp you have to be sure that all faces are pointed out with the white side. The blue/purple side will not be visible in Blender and so in FlightGear. See if all faces are correct with View > Face Style > Monochrome. If a face is pointing out with the purple face press Right mouseclick > Reverse face.

Thanks a lot! Now that I am back on my Computer after a few days off, development continues.
Is it correct you are reworking the cockpit?
If not, just tell me and I'll use the current one. I like to incorporate some features from the Harrier radar (as I've read the typhoon radar is based on it too).

You already got some comments in the AH-64 thread (nice model btw, too bad I can do little about the FDM as I never did a helicopter before).
The instruments usually get loaded by xml files, it eases the animation process and they are exchangeable and can be reused.

I'm going to write a FCS to control the flaps/slats and do further animation. External stores are on my agenda too. If you like to do some cockpit work it would be great.

Detlef yes i can continue with the cockpit, my problem is i struggle with XML, and to sort out animations for the instruments is difficult for me until i learn more.

I am doing the APACHE cockpit as we speak and am trying to learn the animation/xml side of things with that.

I'm trying to use the LYNX xml files as the general statistics are quite near, i'm just adjusting the different figures to suit.

I would like to say that i am extremely grateful for the work you ahve done.

If you feel there are things you would like to do to make it better for the FG community please feel free to change/ammend anything.

Alex

Here is the next development snapshot of the Eurofighter. Tidied the model up a bit, more animations and Cockpit improvements.

CVS users will get it with their next checkout

hi detlef, the cockpit has improved greatly.

there seemed to be a sound problem with the gear up/down looping.

made it sound like a whale!
lol

and the animations of the gears rising into the body has stopped.

The model is looking much tidier now, thanks for your ard work on it.

My time has been tied up with the APACHE.

best wishes

Hello everybody,

I'm currently fiddling with the HUD and only have two not very detailed screenshots. Does anybody have any information about the eurofighters HUD modes or pictures?

Any help appreciated.
