Ah ok, please let me know when you've fixed that, so I can update the pilot model in Git. Would it be nice if we can do it the upcoming release (else it will take 6 more months before most people will see the fix) ;-)

Any interest in an update for this aircraft - particularly the cockpit?

I will make a start on the animations then - for the instruments/controls in the cockpit. Even if it's only for the two of us 8)

Still a lot to be done but I think I have added enough animations for it to be flyable as a prototype. If anyone wants to try it out, it is available from here:

One workaround I found with an older user/system where the FG installation was upgraded to FG2018.3.5 is similar to what was encountered in this thread:

https://forum.flightgear.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=37641

Basically it was invisible to the launcher. If you get something similar, maybe try these command lines . . .

--fg-aircraft=path/to/the/folder/where/your/aircraft/is/located
--aircraft=1977_C-101EB

for example, this worked for me:
--fg-aircraft=/Users/myname/Documents/FlightGear/Aircraft/
--aircraft=1977_C-101EB

Yet the clean user I created to do the development of this doesn't have this problem. Maybe it's a MacOS thing?

Worked in 2020.2.1 on linux, but not in 2020.1.2 or 2018.3.4 on windows

I have a script to check for xml oddities - will run it over it later, might just be a bug in FG thats been fixed recently?

Even if it's only for the two of us

I just downloaded it (and figured out how to launch it). I like what you've done! I took it around the pattern a few times and did an ILS approach. Flies nice, although I think I need to recalibrate my joystick. Keep it up! Count me in - looking forward to where this goes.

Nice to know it's of interest - and even the nav side of it as well! I didn't mention this aspect because I didn't think many people would be using it. It only has one nav radio (NAV1). It's on the lower right hand side panel but not yet functional. I have been setting it via the FG Menu for now. Same for ADF. The central bar on the HSI (set by the KI252 course knob) is a bit cludgy. It only really works properly within about 20 degrees of the LOC. I'll try to do a better animation for that next. Maybe even do the radios.

Welcome to the topic, Odeliuus - got here eventually :D

The modification you suggested on the other topic does indeed help, but there are other issues with the animations in the forward gear. I will try to find time to look at those.

The oil-pressure-psi indicator was just a quick hack. Well done for noticing this. The aircraft itself has this varying between 30 to 62 psi as engine power increases, so the gauge is kind of registering "correctly". The green line arc is actually 38 to 46. It can be made to look nicer with with the following changes to
C-101/Models/cockpit_PILOT.xml at around line 574:

Code: Select all
  <animation><type>rotate</type><object-name>needleOilPSI</object-name>
    <property>/engines/engine/oil-pressure-psi</property><!--  HACK!!!!!!
    it varies from 30..62-->
     <interpolation>
      <entry><ind>  0 </ind><dep> -120 </dep></entry>
      <entry><ind> 30 </ind><dep>  -15 </dep></entry>
      <entry><ind> 62 </ind><dep>   20 </dep></entry>
      <entry><ind> 80 </ind><dep>  120 </dep></entry>
    </interpolation>
    <center><y-m>0.209</y-m><!-- right --><z-m>0.042</z-m><!-- up --></center>
    <axis><x> -1 </x><!--  roll --></axis>
  </animation>

As to further updates, that will depend on the level of interest. Right now, that is fairly minimal.

I've modified the forward landing gear, adjusted the Engine Oil PSI and added some extra liveries. Next revision is available for testing at
