773 nightlights

Postby markuslebt » Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:10 pm

hello guys, can somebody add a nightlight-map to my 777-300 that i´ve done a livery for ? i dont know how to do it myself. or a tutorial for making the nightlight.png would be helpful too. cheers Mark.

the livery is here on this page ---> http://thechurchistroo.99k.org/flightgear.html

nightlight png´s work with very very low opacity and the right mask to cut the lights out. i tried like 20 times and cant get it done. would really appreciate help. only for this one livery. cheers.

You'd better add a lightmap to the aircraft ;)
http://wiki.flightgear.org/Howto:_Lightmap

Note that as of 2.6.0 there will be a combined shader, where you can have lightmap, bumpmap and reflections on a single object.

One doubt my friend,

I have copied only the folders in the 777-300 and pasted it in 200. But by doing that I don't get to see any of the 200 liveries nor can i add new ones there. Can this be solved. I can only get Delta airlines which is there by default.

Other wise the 200 works just like your 300. I fly it when on MIA as it doesnt operate 300. Do you fly for any VA which operates 300.

it's not that simple, just to change/overwrite some files.

and yes, i do fly in an airline which operate on 773, its Arminair. http://arminair.tk unfortunately, the forum is just in polish.

SP-WKA,

I can not get the 300/ER to start. I can not find the bleed air valves. Where are they? Also, would you mind either making an Autostart option or a start up tutorial in sim?

Thanks,

OK. So I found the bleed air pumps, but now I can't find the Engine generators. Can someone please tell me where they are?

Hi there

Loved your latest additions. I have one problem. I have got so addicted to fly your aircraft that I don't feel like flying any other. MIA doesn't operate 300. So I copied the folders models, sounds etc and pasted in 200. Now the 200 works absolutely like your 300, only difference is that it doesn't have the announcements and views. And yes the liveries get screwed up.

Can you help/suggest/advice me how this can be fixed. I have to fly 200 on longhaul flights.

my suggestion is to ask Merlion to operate on B773. we can 'sell' some to you :)

Despite some great work, this isn't going too happen. And here's why;

--> We, merlion Virtual Airlines, already operate Boeing 777-200ER, Boeing 747-400, Boeing 787-8 and Airbus A380-800 on our extra-longhaul routes. Adding the Boeing 777-300ER is not entirely worth the money. Especially if we sell our 772s at 85% original value. (thats how we work it when we sold our Airbus A321s and Avions Transport Regional ATR-42-600s.)

--> We also can not just introduce an aircraft because of its merits in-sim. Furthermore, now that merlion Virtual Airlines is cross-sim, we can't just introduce it willy-nilly. As it may be fantastic in FlightGear but absolute horse dung in FS9, FSX and X-Plane.

--> In real life, apart from the stretch of the aircraft, there's not too much different in the aircraft, they're too similar. Going through an overhaul really is NOT worth it.

--> We've just complete merlion Data v3.0, we really don't want to have rethink all 777 routes, there is a fair few.

Hope you understand.

Cheers,
