INS Viraat ?

Guys, I think we can add a carrier (ex carrier HMS Hermes) INS Viraat near the coast of Mumbai India

, actually i m very poor in animating 3D models, or else i could take that job ! please anyone interested ?

Do you already have a 3d model of that ship with textures?

Do you want the carrier to be static, or does it need to cruise over the ocean?

Has the carrier got aresting wires and a catapult? If so, are they already on the ship?

If you awnser these questions, things will be a lot clearer

Ans 1) hmm.. sorry but no, but i referred the google 3D warehouse, and i found a model, if possible, we can modify and use it for FG
Ans 2)i think we can make it cruise on ocean(same like Nimitz) in the Arabian sea ( with Unique Tacan)
Ans 3) its not a CATOBAR type carrier, it operates very few naval vehicles like Seaking, Alouette-III Sea Harriers.

Two things: NEVER EVER use anything from the 3D warehouse in FG. Indeed, anything from Google cannot be used, licensing issues.
aaand; I've noticed, over the last couple of days, you've made a couple of requests, why not work on something yourself first, and then ask for help?

Exception to this: if the original modeler allows you to use his model, and you can manage to convert the model so that all doublesurfaces are removed, then you CAN use them.
(for example, I have given permission for all my current and future works on the 3D Warehouse to be used for any and all FG projects)

Connect: i m making requests just to improve FG.. if u have any objection then please do not post and i specified at the first post that i m very poor in 3D modelling

kyokoyama: BTW, i just gave an idea about the google 3D warehouse... IF the 3D modelling takes much time.. then we can surely postpone it.. there are only 4 carriers in FG and all have CATOBARs so i thought to share my idea about a different type of carrier

thorium; indeed, I'm sure you have the best interest in mind, however, you must understand, endless people making requests here there and everywhere is tiring. Its happened before, and in the end, people ignore them. On a lighter note, I too am not (comparative to xsaint, Ampeere, Liam etc) a good 3D modeller. But I don't/haven't/won't give up. I've watched endless amounts of tutorials, practice and practice makes perfect. If you model and indeed make this a project, wouldn't you feel better/prouder if YOU made it, rather then someone else because you asked?

That carrier looks very cool.
I think the hardest part of moddeling here is the hull of the ship.
Shiphulls are bitches for moddeling. I've tried to do some but I never get them right ;P

Hey, if you want me to help, then i can surely Help in research... if you want me modeling, then fine :wink:

but i think research work will be better than compared to modeling
BTW, i have Google sketchup 8.. should i need anything more for modeling this ship ?

You need the .skp to .ac converter. That's all for now. Oh, maybe you should have a lot of looksies at the ship that was already in the skp model database. Just to look how that guy did some stuff
