Dropbox is completely web based (although it does have a client as well) - maybe you can upload a .patch or .zip to it and share a link?

What I have done is follow Neey's lead; I have moved the entire electrical system into the "/sim" space where all properties start clean and can be managed anew with XML or Nasal.

Sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I think that is a valid solution. I would be happy to review it once your finished, just let know.
I'm actually in need of a complete electrical system for the J3Cub/PA-18 and was planning on modeling it similar to the c172p. It'll be interesting to see if this the same or yet another alternative.

Dropbox is at best an interim solution, in my opinion.

Much better to use bitbucket or one of the other free git services and use git to control your work and releases; it can be a bit strange if you're not used to using version control; there will be help in here to set it up it you ask.

You can of course also request commit access to FGAddon.

But above all remember that there are lots of folk here (myself included) that are happy to help with any problems to help those developing for FG.

Hi John,

Richard is right and after reviewing some of your fairly extensive changes I can see your proficient enough to be able to maintain this aircraft. If you plan to continue updating systems I would suggest you ask for commit access to fgaddon and do your work directly out of the fgaddon svn repository.
It will make it much simpler in the long run. I use Linux RapidSVN GUI for convenience and it is a breeze to use once you understand a few basics such as to how to checkout, update, commit and run a diff tool. Those are really the only things I usually have to concern myself with and I get by quite well.

Let me know if your willing to try that.

In the meantime I will finish reviewing these changes and comment as to my impression of them. So far they look to be some really nice additions to the Cessna337.

You can subscribe to the developers mailing list here
Then explain your intentions and ask for commit access to the fgaddon repository for updating the Cessna337.

I suddenly have many FG related tasks on my plate and am slow in reviewing your changes in detail and testing, but I will get there.

I have an XP virtual machine on my Linux install and can try the application @legoboyvdlp suggested and maybe give you some hints/help on getting up to speed with it.

Much easier to use the excellent (and free for opensource development) SmartGit https://www.syntevo.com/smartgit/ - you still need some understanding of what git does but this GUI works well and is intuitive.

Dropbox is dead for me since they removed support for certain file systems on linux, one of them being nfs... and my $HOME comes from a fileserver via nfs.
