So, is there going to be a lightmap, or are we going to wait for the shader to be updated a bit?

I'm planning to do all the advanced lighting using lightmaps, just like the ATR 72. (Although the landing lights will have lightmaps this time.)

Both look very nice! :)

Zbyszek, the cockpit windows in your livery are unnecessary, as they are already in the 3d model.

I didn't mean windows. It's metal around cokpit windows. Anyway, I think that it won't looks good on aircraft (texture is too small resolution for details like in B100d  ), but you can cut the 3d model and do new UV map for this place.

We all bring our little touches to paintkits ;-)

I changed the resolution to 4096X4096 because I can do finer details, and I added a contour layer, which I did using the UV map and the edge detect feature in Gimp. I prefer working with the contours instead of the complete UV map. 8)

^Keep in mind that if the liveries are made at that size, there will probably be lag over MP. That happened with Skyop's CRJ-900 when he first made it. Of course, if you end up scaling down the paintkit, that should be fine.

I'd rather make them bigger so I can work with more detail, it's real easy afterwards to convert them to 2048x2048 or 1024x1024, whatever works best. But if you work with 1024 for example, you get a lot of pixelization, which you never can fix.

The Jazz, green and red are done, they are available here:

I like this one, so I think it will be my next...Then I have to get back to the Twotters ;-)

*cough* DDS *cough* instant loading :) Can anyone test the new Mac build on Hudson to see if DDS is working correctly? I can do it later this week if I have time.. Jazz is looking snappy!

@493Tiger: Upload it in 4096x4096 when complete. When the original CRJ900 was released, I didn't exactly know how to optimize the livery select system- each and every UV mapped object was specified in the animation, and that kinda lagged the whole thing. Now, I know how to group objects together, so I only need to specify one object- this significantly speeds things up, so the big size may not be a problem anymore. We'll see.

@truthsolo: No DDS support for Linux builds. :(

Here are Bob's Air Canada Jazz liveries (they were scaled back down to 2048x2048, since not much detail was lost):

I didn't think I'd get this far today, but I'm almost finished the US Airways Express livery

@ Skyop,

The engines and wing-lets have labels that can cause confusion... I need to add some colours to the outboard face of the wing-lets but they are labelled left side and right side???

ps Doing these liveries went so well, that I'll do another one right now, the American Eagle... I am kind of keeping the Canadian theme going ;-) I'm doing liveries of aircraft that were photographed in Dorval (CYUL)
