Looking back on my CRJ900 model, I think I could have done much, much better with the 3d. The nose section looks more rocket-plane than CRJ, some details are missing, and the gears aren't modelled correctly. So I decided to rebuild the model using some skills picked up working on other aircraft. Oh, and some cockpit and systems stuff while I'm at it.
I also decided to revisit Nickyivyca's original suggestion in the CRJ900 thread: have one CRJ700 aircraft that has the CRJ700 and CRJ900. So I'm discontinuing the CRJ900 and creating a new aircraft, "CRJ700-family". It will include the following:
- CRJ700
- CRJ700ER
- CRJ700LR
- CRJ900
- CRJ900ER
- CRJ900LR
- CRJ1000 EuroLite (standard?)
- CRJ1000ER
Current progress on the new CRJ700 model. It is being rebuilt from the ground up with much more attention to detail as well as a better 3 view reference. It will have a completely new UV map and it will be used as a basis for the new CRJ900 and CRJ1000 models. The engines will need some more attention and will eventually be split into another model. The flight surfaces also need to be cut out, and the gear doors will need to be cut too.
