Sorry guys  , I'll try to stop doing the point less posting, after all I am sort of new only about 100 something posts.

I'll try not to do the very annoying pointless posting. (I can under stand how you feel)

Don't worry too much about it, Boeing. There's a strong expectation in most open source projects that you try to find the answer yourself before asking on a public forum. People here are giving of their time and hard work for free, so it's best not to disturb them or distract them too much. :)

You seem to have a good attitude, so you'll be fine here.

Well, forgiveness is all well and good, but the most important thing is that you've agreed to improve your act a bit - I hope you act on that promise.

...back on track, I was flipping through my electrical manual when I came across another EICAS page. So I modeled it. :P EDIT: LOL, both busses say "BUS 1." Fixed now.

I'm working on the autopilot now.

AMAZING plane Skyop! I just finished getting GIT and the CRJ-700 was the first plane I flew. I really love it! Great work for pre-official release!

Thanks for the nice words, Muffinman. :) There's a lot more in store, and I aim to get this aircraft into Git so it can be downloaded from the FG 2.4.0 download page.

Today I brought back in the upper panel from the old CRJ900. (That's the one with the landing light switches and the passenger signs. I also did a little Audacity work on Liam's "fasten seatbelt" ping sound, and got this sound.) And I modeled this nifty little clock. All the buttons are functional.

I did some actual 3d work on the cockpit today. Many of the elements you see below were created by Zbyszek- the yokes, the ASI limit placards, and the air vents. Still need to texture and detail the center pedestal, and implement a basic FADEC system. :) (The FADEC acts like an autothrust computer that controls the throttles when set by the pilot. I'm still thinking how I'll go about simulating that.)

It also turns out the yokes get in the way of the instruments rather easily, so I created a switch in the menu to show and hide them.

That will most certainly be appreciated. :D

@Skyop and CRJ-700/900 lovers out there:

Take a deep breath and watch these:

Wow! Stunning images.

One area I really wanted to improve from the original CRJ900 was the pedestal. I did some 3d and texturing work on that today.

Night lighting. Currently, it's always on- in the future, it will be controlled by the electrical system and some knobs on the (unmodeled part of the) pedestal.

EDIT: Almost forgot, I also ran a test flight from KMIA to TNCM. The airplane handled great, but fuel consumption wasn't as high as I expected. I'm going to adjust the CG and see if that helps. I also got some new textures for the engine nozzles, but I'll leave that for another update/surprise. :)

Finished implementing thrust modes! :D You can select one of the following thrust modes for each engine using the throttle quadrant (not necessarily realistic, as the manual didn't mention these at all):

  • Engine shutoff - self-explanatory.
  • Normal - your throttle controls each engine (maximum power is 92%)
  • Climb - autothrust system maintains 300 knots (maximum power is 96%)
  • TO/GA - autothrust system maintains 250 knots (maximum power is 100%)
  • Max - autothrust system maintains 100% power

While I'm in a power plant mood, here's the new engine textures. :)

Remember that some of the "live" pictures are from http://www.scanliners.com/trips/ERJ190_ ... CRJ900.htm are showing the ERJ-190 and not CRJ-900 ...
