I ran into the same problem, El Flauta...It seems that you have to have some X3D software installed to be able to see the preview images that they provide :(

That's correct.
But it's not really a problem at all. Even the website itself says:
Install an X3D plugin to see this example...

So you can even install a viewer for your browser.

It's all there on the site, in the form of XML markup: https://savage.nps.edu/Savage/AircraftF ... age01.html

Look out for the .x3d links in the markup. For example, the 747 download link is: https://savage.nps.edu/Savage/AircraftF ... ng-747.x3d

But, blender being the spawn of satan that it is refuses to import the models. Infact it wont import anything except .ac or its own blend files. It tells me python isnt installed ! :?

It tells me python isnt installed !

Then go to http://www.python.org/ and install python. Then Blender will import all the other things too.

Also make shure you install the version blender is looking for, it usualy writes that in the console window when starting up. Probably python 2.6.

StuartC, that happened to me too. Make sure your Blender3D isn't looking for Python 2.5! If so, it will not "see" the 2.6.
