E-Jet ILS

Postby naplesAPF » Tue Sep 12, 2023 10:53 pm

Trying to land the E-Jet with ILS. The E-Jet Alt is set to 5000 feet to start with and when trying to land it with ILS it seems to be stuck at 4800 feet and won't descend below that. Is there a problem or is it just me?

are you actually using the brakes or are you locking them on, eating the tires, and sliding off the runway on the metal rims?
how heavy are you when landing?
how long is the runway?
which airport?
is it wet or icy?
"You get more air close to the ground," said Angalo. "I read that in a book. You get lots of air low down, and not much when you go up."
"Why not?" said Gurder.
"Dunno. It's frightened of heights, I guess."

Think I got it now. You have to turn off the autothrottle when you land. I turned it off at about 300 feet & then landed & I could stop it.

Also: the autobrakes will automatically disengage at, IIRC, 60 knots (except when in RTO mode), or alternatively when you resume manual braking, so you can't expect the autobrake system to bring the aircraft to a complete stop.
