Apparently when I updated the DME code I broke the DME indicators... sorry. Now it's fixed.

I made some drop in replacement sounds with longer loops so it wouldn't sound as repetitive.
Otherwise they are as close as possible to the original sounds. If anyone is interested, grab
them from here:

Hey Timi, thanks! I will evaluate them soon and commit if everything is ok!

Awesome! The Engines/buzz and Engines/buzz_low are actually a few ms shorter to remove
the popping sound they made while looping.

Re: McDonnell Douglas MD-80 Development

Hello,

thanks a lot for bringing the MD-80 to life in FlightGear. I see that there are still a lot of things to do, but so far the results are really good!
I am also happy to see that the development is still progressing. This is yet another great example of FG's community-based development model!

I have one question related to throttles management. The A/T System (ATS) has two button inputs:
- A/T Disconnect
- TO/GA

I read that there is some bug that prevents using them properly, but I was wondering if it is possible to assign them to a joystick button.

The same question actually applies also to the A/P disconnect button: I assigned the action to a joystick button but it appears that the action does not refer to the MD-80 A/P.

Can you provide some indications please? And, of course I am sorry if this has been already discussed elsewhere (I searched a bit before posting ...).

Thanks in advance,

Fabrizio

PS I added this to highlight that I know that the inputs can be generated via keyboard, so perhaps the question is how to link a joystick button to a keyboard entry.

Hi Fabrizio,
Thanks very much for your kind words. Yes development is still ongoing :)

Yes, it's possible to do absolutely. There is no bug with it. ALL aircraft I develop have same bindings that can be used for AP/AT Disc. I will add the bindings here later tonight. :)

Kind Regards,
Josh

Here you go:

AP: libraries.apPanel.apDisc();
ATHR: libraries.apPanel.atDisc();

Support killing AP and cancelling the warning.

Call from XML via nasal binding in you joystick.

New:
There is an option to display the armed flight level on the FMA as a flight level (ex, 35,000 as 350), instead of just the text ALT in amber.

Some airlines have it configured that, others not, so now you can choose.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hello Josh,

thanks a lot for your reply.

I am not sure how to do it. But before pestering you again I will first study a little bit. I am rather new to these technicalities, but I not exactly unaware of programming 8) ...

Hi,
No problemo sir. I gonna make a instructions about it soon.

Go to the joystick configuration, and set the buttons to some random action that you will recognize.

Then open your XML in $FG_HOME\Input\Joysticks
For Windows $FG_HOME is %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\flightgear.org
I don't know where it is on Linux or Mac sorry.

Then find the bindings you set in the joystick configuration, and replace the bindings with this:

AP:
Code: Select all
   <binding>
      <command>nasal</command>
      <script>libraries.apPanel.apDisc();</script>
   </binding>

ATS:
Code: Select all
   <binding>
      <command>nasal</command>
      <script>libraries.apPanel.atDisc();</script>
   </binding>

TOGA:
Code: Select all
   <binding>
      <command>nasal</command>
      <script>libraries.apPanel.toga();</script>
   </binding>

Then click the refresh joysticks button in FG and you're done.

Kind Regards,
Josh
