Pls make a video.

I test and it works.

While working on the A320's overspeed law I suddenly got an idea for how to implement the reverser affects on the rudder's authority.

Now modelled. Also fixed the Oil Pressure gauge erroneously showing up where the right engine Oil Quantity should have been.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Pneumatic system has been added. For now the packs will be on when then engines are fully running until the cockpit panel is modelled. Then I will detail it further and add it.

The crossfeeds and their functions are modelled including the interactions with ground and APU air. Manual start should be possible soon, then I will shift focus tomodelling a new overhead panel as best I can so that you can actually take advantage of the systems modelling!

Kind Regards,
Josh

Now the ignition system has been added.
I have also added the panel state integration into aircraft config since all major systems have been simulated.

The only missing thing is the switches for the packs. Until I model those, IntegratedSystems will handle those switched automatically. But the system is modelled.

Manual start of the aircraft is now possible! Remember the crossbleeds on the pedestal.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Hi,
Quick update:
Now when you start the MD-80 simulation in FlightGear, you will see the normal:
Image

But then after the sim loads, instead of the welcome dialog, first you will see this:
Image

For about 4 seconds, then the welcome will appear like normal. This is done because the airplane loads cold and dark. So all the analog gauges are unpowered. That means, they will all be stuck at 0, which is unrealistic, because most of the gauges do not snap to 0 when they lose power during shutdown of the previous flight, they just freeze and display a red flag.

So the aircraft config center will power the gauges for roughly 4 seconds to give the needles time to go to their correct positions, and then when the welcome screen appears they will be frozen like they should be in cold dark -> but this time at their correct positions.

I may adjust the loading time as required as work is done. But 4 seconds is absolutely not intrusive given how long the sim takes to load.

Kind Regards,
Josh

I did a clean checkout and autothrottle behavior seems normal. Must have been something on my end. Thanks!

Dear Josh, such a great work! I will be waiting impatiently until you add more systems and Features like your md-11! You made me turn back to flightgear after months in fsx!

Added the ART system.

Image

Then an engine failure happens.
Image

ART automatically increases engine to near maximum takeoff power - without moving throttles. ART is reset when switching to climb power, slats retracted, or ART switch turned off
ART light active

Since ART is not a function of the autothrottle, the power will not be exact. PnF should adjust power to closer match the EPR limit on the TRI.

there are basically 2 T/O settings on the -80, normal and maximum, which is why this system exists.
If you want to use maximum EPR for takeoff, simply turn off ART system and TRI will show maximum takeoff EPR

For takeoff flex, ART must be turned off! Otherwise its a derate of a derate which is not allowed (TRI will display NO MODE and autothrottle will not function)

The ART switch is temporary wrongly in appearance right now, it will be modelled correctly later. It is located above the first officer's FMA. You will need to turn off ART to use the takeoff FLEX as stated.

Quite a funky system to model. :) but didn't take very long to implement.

Kind Regards,
Josh

Thanks to Jakkos, he has found the right font many of the -80 gauges use. I will be updating the font thruout the proper gauges. Already done: ALT, ASI, VSI

Sorry for lack of updates. Been real busy on the A320's rework.

Anyways the display shader issue should be fixed now on AMD/INTEL.

Enjoying the ART system, thanks!

The stick pusher seems to activate when slats are retracted, but is supposed to only activate when slats are extended.

Thanks! Should be fixed, I couldn't test but I added the slat condition into the logic. Please let me know.

Glad to hear :)
