garbled graphics  Topic is solved

Graphics issues like: bad framerates, weird colors, OpenGL errors etc. Bad graphics ar usually the result of bad graphics cards or drivers.
Forum rules
In order to help you, we need to know a lot of information. Make sure to include answers to at least the following questions in your initial post.

- what OS (Windows Xp/Vista, Mac etc.) are you running?
- what FlightGear version do you use?
- what graphics card do you have?
- does the problem occur with any aircraft, at any airport?
- is there any output printed to the console (black window)?
- copy&paste your commandline (tick the "Show commandline box on the last page of FGRun or the "Others" section on the Mac launcher).
- please upload a screenshot of the problem.

If you experience FlightGear crashes, please report a bug using the issue tracker (can be also used for feature requests).
To run FlightGear on old computers with bad OpenGL support, please take a look at this wiki article. If you are seeing corrupted/broken textures, please see this article.

Note: If you did not get a reponse, even after 7 days, you may want to check out the FlightGear mailing lists to ask your question there.

garbled graphics

Program loads, but graphic is garbled ... pixelated Gauges on Panel.

Operating System: Kubuntu 22.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.7
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.92.0
Qt Version: 5.15.3
Kernel Version: 5.15.0-57-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: X11
Processors: 16 × AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8-Core Processor
Memory: 15.6 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NV168

Your graphics card ran out of small pixels supply. Got to run to a store and buy some more :D

But, seriously, have you seen that big box with a red background with 'Forum rules' right on top? Did you read them?

Still you missed at least one important item: full version of Flight Gear.
Also, memory - is it RAM or VRAM?
And, NV168 - what card model? Or is it mobile/laptop?

Currently using Display port to a LG monitor

would it make a difference to use a HDMI ???

You can use proprietary nVidia driver, works perfectly. OpenSource nouveau driver is piece of the crap.

changing cables cannot fix a driver problem :roll:

install the proper NVIDIA driver for your GPU and OS and you should be ok...
